【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구 수성구(구청장 김대권)는 청곡종합사회복지관을 대상으로 기후위기 취약계층·지역 지원사업을 실시했다고 8일 밝혔다.

수성구청에 따르면 이번 사업은 환경부가 기후위기 취약계층·지역의 기후 탄력성 회복을 지원하는 사업으로, 수성구는 지난해 10월 공모 사업에 선정돼 사업 소요 비용의 절반인 1,500만원을 국비 예산으로 확보했다.

수성구는 자체 예산 1,500만원을 더 투입해 기후위기 취약계층이 자주 이용하는 청곡종합사회복지관 옥상과 외벽을 차열 페인트로 도장했다.

수성구에서 가장 큰 행정동인 고산2동에 소재한 청곡종합사회복지관은 기후위기 취약계층 주민을 위한 다양한 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.

1999년에 준공된 복지관 건물은 창호 등 시설이 노후화되고 냉방기 성능이 저하되는 등 시설 이용 주민에게 쾌적하고 안전한 환경을 제공하는 데 한계가 있었다.

이에 수성구는 지난달 차열페인트 도장 공사를 마무리하고, 무더위가 정점에 이르는 7월과 8월에는 사업효과 검토를 위한 모니터링을 중점적으로 추진할 계획이다.

김대권 수성구청장은 “이 사업을 통해 청곡종합사회복지관을 이용하는 주민이 더 안전하고 시원하게 여름을 나셨으면 한다”며 “앞으로도 기후변화 대응을 위해 다방면으로 노력하겠다”고 말했다.

Cheonggok Community Welfare Center, located in Gosan 2-dong, the largest administrative district in Suseong-gu, operates various programs for residents vulnerable to the climate crisis.

The welfare center building, which was completed in 1999, had limitations in providing a comfortable and safe environment for residents using the facility, as the windows and doors and other facilities were aging and the performance of the air conditioner was deteriorating.

Accordingly, Suseong-gu completed the heat-insulating paint construction last month and plans to focus on monitoring to review the project effectiveness in July and August, when the hot weather reaches its peak.

Kim Dae-kwon, head of Suseong-gu, said, “Through this project, we hope that residents who use Cheonggok Community Welfare Center will have a safer and cooler summer,” and added, “We will continue to make efforts in various ways to respond to climate change.”
