이번 공모사업은 지역 외식업계의 경쟁력 강화와 활성화를 위해 대구시가 9개 구·군을 대상으로 추진한 사업이다. 참신하고 실효성 있는 과제를 발굴·지원하기 위해 마련됐으며, 평가를 통해 2개 구·군을 선정해 1위 3천만 원, 2위 2천만 원을 차등 지원한다.
수성구는 ‘QR 다국어 메뉴판 지원사업’을 제안해 사업의 필요성과 실효성, 국제행사 대비 적합성 등에서 높은 점수를 받아 최종 1위에 올랐다. 이번 사업은 대구를 찾는 외국인 관광객 증가 추세를 반영해 기획됐다.
특히 오는 8월 개최되는 2026 대구세계마스터즈 육상경기대회 기간 중 경기장이 위치한 수성구에 외국인 방문객이 집중될 것으로 예상됨에 따라, 선제적인 외식 환경 개선에 나선 것으로 풀이된다.
사업은 음식점 메뉴판의 메뉴명과 설명을 영어·중국어·일본어 등 다국어로 제작해 QR코드 방식으로 제공하는 것이 핵심이다. 이용객이 QR코드를 스캔하면 메뉴 정보를 손쉽게 확인할 수 있어 언어 장벽을 완화하고 이용 편의를 높일 것으로 기대된다.
