이날 행사에는 최연혜 가스공사 사장을 비롯한 임직원들과 김선조 대구시 행정부시장, 홍원화 경북대학교 총장, 대구지역 공공기관장 등 600여 명이 참석했다.

이날 최연혜 사장은 전국 천연가스 공급을 이루기까지 지난 41년 간땀 흘린 임직원들의 노고를 격려하고, 임직원들과 함께 대구 이전 10년간의 발자취를 되돌아보며 지역 상생기업으로 거듭날 것을 다짐했다.

또한, 가스공사는 이날 기념식을 맞아 지난 10년간의 소중한 기억을 한 데 모아 ‘한국가스공사, 대구 동행 10+’를 발간했다.

공공기관 지방이전 정책에 따라, 지난 2014년 대구 혁신도시로 본사를이전한 가스공사는 지역인재 채용과 다양한 상생활동을 펼치며 대구 시민에게 사랑받는 대표 공기업으로 자리매김해오고 있다.

지역인재 채용 및 직원 정착율 증가 

가스공사는 매년 ‘지역 인재 채용 우대제도’를 적용해 현재까지316명의 대구·경북지역 인재를 채용했으며,이전 초기37.4%였던 가족동반 이주율은 2023년 말 기준 65.5%로,1.8배 수준 증가했다.

사회공헌 

가스공사는 지난 ‘14년부터 ‘온누리 열효율 개선 사업’을 통해 대구취약계층주거지 총 540여 곳의 보일러와 창호를 교체했으며,대구지역저소득층 학생을 대상으로 장학금을 지급하고, 장애인 일자리를 창출하는등 도움이 필요한 이웃들에게 따뜻함을 전하고 있다.

중소기업 동반성장 

가스공사는 ‘16년부터 대구은행(iM뱅크) 등과 ’중소기업펀드‘를 조성해 대구·경북 5,100여 개의 중소기업이저리로 대출을 받아 211억 원의 이자비용을 절감할 수 있도록 힘을 보탰다.

아울러, 대구·경북지역 중소기업에 기술개발을 지원하여 지역 기업인 화성밸브와 금강밸브가 천연가스 설비 부품을 국산화하고약 132억 원의 매출을 달성하는 데 기여했다.

지역경제 활성화 및 프로농구단 창단 

’22년에는 세계 최대 규모의 국제 가스행사인‘세계가스총회(World Gas Conference, WGC)’를 대구에서 성황리에 개최해 73개국 9,400여 명 참관객을 포함한전 세계인에게 개최지인 대구광역시를 각인시키고, 인력고용 등을 통해 약 4천 억 원에 이르는 경제적 파급효과를 창출했다.

또한 ‘21년에는 프로농구단 ‘페가수스’를 창단해 대구시민들의 스포츠 참여 기회를 확대하고, 연 50억 원 이상의 생산·부가가치를 창출하고 있다.
