이날 캠페인은 율하초등학교 일대에서 열렸으며, 가스공사 이과형 상생기획부장, 최경희 대구동부경찰서 안심지구대장, 서유숙 대구 동구청 복지생활국장, 교사·학생 등 30여 명이 참석했다.

이번 활동은 최근 수도권에서 발생한 초등학생 유괴 시도로 지역 사회 불안이 커짐에 따라 마련됐다. 참석자들은 아동들에게 호신용 경보기를 배부하고 사용법과 위기 대응 요령을 교육했으며, 학교 주변 아동보호구역을 합동 순찰했다.

가스공사 관계자는 “이번 캠페인이 아동 범죄 예방과 주민 불안 해소에 도움이 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 지역 대표 공기업으로서 안전한 지역 사회를 만들기 위해 유관기관과 협력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편, 가스공사는 2020년부터 대구 혁신도시 인근에서 ‘안심(安心)밝히기 사업’을 추진해 왔다. 지금까지 1억6천만 원을 투입해 공원 등 조도 취약 지역에 태양광 센서등, 큐브 안내판, 반사경 등을 설치했으며, 올해도 율하동 어린이공원 2곳에 가로등, 로고젝터, 비상벨 등을 새로 구축했다. 지난해 주민 설문조사에서는 응답자의 94%가 사업에 만족한다고 답했다.

Korea Gas Corporation Holds Joint Child Safety Campaign in Daegu's Dong-gu District

Korea Gas Corporation (President Choi Yeon-hye) held a "Joint Campaign with Related Agencies to Ensure Child Safety" with the Daegu Dongbu Police Station and Daegu Dong-gu District Office on the 29th.

The campaign took place near Yulha Elementary School. Participants distributed self-defense alarms to children, trained them on their use and crisis response techniques, and conducted joint patrols of the child protection zone around the school.

A KOGAS official stated, "We hope this campaign will help prevent child crime and alleviate residents' anxiety. As a leading public corporation in the region, we will continue to collaborate with relevant organizations to create a safe community."

Meanwhile, KOGAS has been promoting the "Lighting Up Safety Project" near Daegu Innovation City since 2020. To date, it has invested 160 million won to install solar-powered sensor lights, cube signage, and reflectors in parks and other areas with limited lighting. This year, it also installed new streetlights, logo projectors, and emergency bells at two Yulha-dong children's parks. Last year, a resident survey found that 94% of respondents were satisfied with the project.
