【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=한국가스공사(사장 최연혜)는 지난 6월 28일 대구 엑스코에서 열린 ‘2024 대한경영학회 경영 대상’ 시상식에서 ‘지속가능경영 대상’을 수상했다.

1일 가스공사에 따르면 사단법인 대한경영학회에서 주관하는 ‘지속가능경영 대상’은 지속적인혁신을 통해 ESG를 적극적으로 실천하고 있는 기업을 위해 제정된상으로, 지속가능경영 전략, 환경·사회·지배구조 등 각 영역에서전문가의 심의를 거쳐 수상 대상을 선정한다.

가스공사는 이번 심의에서 온실가스 감축 노력을 통한 기후 위기대응, 취약계층 에너지 복지 지원, 공정하고 투명한 지배구조 확립 등의 공로를 인정받아 본 상을 수상했다.

가스공사는 친환경·고효율 LNG 설비 전환과 LNG 벙커링 사업을적극 추진해 탄소 배출가스를 줄이는 데 앞장서고 있다.

또한 취약계층 가스요금 감면 확대 및 중소기업 동반성장·상생협력 사업을 통해 국민을 위한 공기업으로서 사회적 책임을 적극 실천하고 있다.

아울러 부패방지경영시스템과 공정거래 자율준수 프로그램을 운영해견고한 준법·윤리경영체계를 구축하기 위해 힘쓰고 있다.

가스공사 관계자는 “지속가능경영을 위한 가스공사의 노력을 인정받게 돼 매우 뜻깊다”며, “앞으로도 다양한 이해관계자의 의견을 존중하고 사회적 책임을 완수함으로써 대한민국 대표 에너지 공기업으로 거듭나겠다”고 밝혔다.

Korea Gas Corporation (CEO Choi Yeon-hye) won the ‘Sustainability Management Grand Prize’ at the ‘2024 Korean Management Association Management Awards’ awards ceremony held at EXCO in Daegu on June 28.

 According to Korea Gas Corporation on the 1st, the 'Sustainability Management Grand Prize' hosted by the Korean Management Association is an award established for companies that actively practice ESG through continuous innovation, and is based on sustainable management strategy, environment, society, and governance. Award winners are selected after deliberation by experts in each area, including structure.

In this review, KOGAS received this award in recognition of its contributions to responding to the climate crisis through efforts to reduce greenhouse gases, supporting the energy welfare of the vulnerable, and establishing a fair and transparent governance structure.

KOGAS is taking the lead in reducing carbon emissions by actively promoting eco-friendly and high-efficiency LNG facility conversion and LNG bunkering projects.

In addition, we are actively practicing our social responsibility as a public enterprise for the people by expanding gas fee reductions for vulnerable groups and carrying out mutual growth and cooperation projects for small and medium-sized businesses.

In addition, we are striving to establish a solid compliance and ethical management system by operating an anti-corruption management system and a fair trade compliance program.
