【브레이크뉴스 대구】박은정 기자=한국가스공사(사장 최연혜)는 LNG 도입 가격 급등에 따른 국민 난방비 부담 증가와 가스공사 재무구조 위기에 대한 대책을 시행한다고 22일 밝혔다.

가스공사의 원료비 미수금은 지난해 말 9조 원에 육박한 가운데, 올해 3월 말에는 12조 원을 초과할 것으로 전망되며 이미 가스공사의 자본금을 초과했다. 

이에 가스공사는 현 상황을 심각한 재무건전성 위기로 인식하고, 이를 극복하기 위해 올 초 ‘재무구조개선 TF’를 구성하여 운영 중이다.

지난해 가스공사는 재무위기 극복을 위해 해외사업 수익 8천억 원 창출 및 동절기 수요 감축 6천억 원을 통해 2조 7천억 원의 재무개선 성과를 달성했다.

올해도 가스공사는 자산 유동화를 통한 8천억 원 조달 및 해외사업 수익 1조원 창출 등 2조 7천억 원 규모의 재무개선을 추진하고 향후 5년 간 수익 창출 노력 확대 및 중장기 투자 계획을 합리적으로 조정해 약 14조원 규모의 전 방위적인 자구 노력을 추진한다. 

또 해외청정수소 사업 등 천연가스 인프라 구축 및 에너지 안보 강화와 직접적인 관련이 없는 투자 사업 조정 및 비핵심 자산을 매각하고, 보유 자산은 금융 기법을 활용해 유동성을 추가 확보함으로써 2조 6천억 원을 조달할 계획이다. 

해외사업은 생산 증대 및 마케팅 개선 등 적극적인 수익 개선 노력을 통해 향후 5조 4천억 원의 수익을 창출하고, 공사-민간기업 협업 모델을 구축해 천연가스 산업 수출 활성화에 기여할 방침이다.

특히 지난해 말 조직 1처 7부 축소 및 전국 관리소 중 30% 무인화 추진 등으로 102명 인원 감축을 단행했으며 경제적인 원재료 구매방안을 수립하고 취약한 자본 구조 개선을 위해 3억 8천만 원의 강도 높은 경비 절감 등도 추진할 계획이다.
