앞서 기본소득당은 지난 6일 제2차 임시전국대의원대회에서 지방선거 기본전략을 만장일치로 의결했다. 이날 신설된 선거기획단(이하 기획단)의 단장에는 박기홍 전략기획부총장이 임명됐다.

기본소득당은 ▲내란세력 전면 청산 ▲지방정부형 기본소득 실현이라는 두 가지 목표를 내세우며, 제 정당과 시민사회와의 폭넓은 연대를 통해 지역별 기본소득 도입운동을 펼칠 계획이다. 기획단은 향후 100일간 지방정부형 기본소득 모델을 정립하고, 관련 정책을 공약으로 내세울 후보 발굴에도 나선다.

용혜인 대표는 “기본소득당은 내란청산에 앞장서고, 지방정부형 기본소득 실현을 지향하는 정치세력들과 힘을 모으겠다”며 “지방선거 이후 전국 곳곳에서 기본소득이 현실이 될 수 있도록 모든 역량을 집중하겠다”고 밝혔다.
