【브레이크뉴스 경산】이성현 기자=경산시(시장 조현일)는 26일 시청에서 경산역 주변 상권 활성화를 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 경산역, 경산 중앙로상점가 상인회, 경산 중앙상점가 상인회, 경산 공설시장 상인회 등 5개 기관·단체와 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약은 대경선 개통 이후 경산역을 중심으로 늘어난 유동 인구를 전통시장과 인근 상점가로 유입시키기 위해 추진됐다. 협약에 따라 철도 이용객 대상 문화 행사, 지역 상권 안내·환영 캠페인, 상권 활성화를 위한 행정적 지원 등이 이뤄진다.

특히 경산역은 역 광장 내 공연장 등 일부 공간을 제공해 버스킹 공연과 이벤트 등 다양한 즐길 거리를 마련하며 상권 활성화를 지원할 계획이다.

조현일 경산시장은 “이번 협약을 통해 철도교통과 지역 상권이 유기적으로 연결되는 선순환 구조를 만들어 나갈 것”이라며, “상인회 및 경산역과 협력해 지속적이고 실질적인 상권 활성화 프로그램을 추진하겠다”고 말했다.

협약식에는 안문길 경산시의회 의장도 참석해 지역경제 활성화에 대한 기대감을 함께 나눴다.

대경선 개통 이후 경산역 1일 평균 이용객은 약 9,200명으로, 개통 전 대비 약 30% 증가해 인근 상권 활성화에 대한 기대감을 높이고 있다.

In particular, Gyeongsan Station plans to support the revitalization of the commercial area by providing a performance hall and other spaces within the station plaza to host busking performances and other events.

Gyeongsan Mayor Cho Hyun-il stated, "Through this agreement, we will create a virtuous cycle where rail transportation and the local commercial district are organically linked." He added, "We will collaborate with the merchants' association and Gyeongsan Station to promote sustainable and practical commercial district revitalization programs."

Gyeongsan City Council Chairman Ahn Mun-gil also attended the signing ceremony and shared his expectations for the local economy.

Since the opening of the Daegyeong Line, the average daily passenger volume at Gyeongsan Station has been approximately 9,200, a 30% increase compared to before the opening, raising expectations for the revitalization of the nearby commercial district.
