이날 오전 10시 30분, 대구지법에서 손봉기 영장전담 부장판사 심리로 사위 조모(27)씨와 딸 최모(26)씨에 대한 영장심사가 진행됐다. 조씨는 존속살해와 시체유기, 최씨는 시체유기 혐의를 받고 있다.

조씨는 오전 9시 40분쯤, 최씨는 10시 16분쯤 각각 법원에 도착했다. 이들은 모자와 마스크로 얼굴을 가린 채 법정으로 향했으며, 취재진의 질문에는 끝까지 답하지 않았다.

조씨는 경찰 조사에서 “장모가 평소 집안에서 소음을 내고 정리를 제대로 하지 않아 폭행했다”고 진술했다. 경찰은 금전적 문제 등 다른 갈등 정황은 확인되지 않았다고 밝혔다.
