윤 의원은 “국가수사본부장을 국회의 인사검증 절차 없이 대통령이 바로 임용할 경우, 정치적 중립성 및 독립성, 수사의 공정성이 훼손될 것이라는 우려가 많다”며“ 국가수사본부장이 경찰수사의 컨트롤타워로서 중요한 역할을 수행하게 되는 만큼, 반드시 국회 인사청문회를 통해 자질과 도덕성에 대한 철저한 검증을 받아야 한다”고 강조했다.
