미얀마에서 일어난 군부 쿠데타를 두고 한국자유총연맹 대구광역시지부(회장 정영만)가 이를 중지할 것을 엄중히 경고하며 릴레이 규탄대회를 열었다.
지난 24일 개최된 규탄대회는 대구 8개 구·군 각 사무국에서 온라인으로 동시에 진행되었으며 141개 읍·면·동 단위 및 개인회원별 SNS 릴레이 방식으로 진행될 예정이다.
이날 규탄대회에서 자총 윤철환 사무처장은 “자유와 민주주의에 대한 의지는 비단 미얀마 국민뿐만이 아니라 인류의 보편적인 가치이기에 이를 폭력이라는 형태로 억압한다고 막을 수 있는게 아니며, 하루빨리 미얀마 군부세력은 헛된 야욕에서 벗어나 국제사회의 요구를 겸허히 받아들이길 바란다”는 목소리를 높였다.
아울러 한국자총은 “미얀마 군부의 쿠데타 사태를 규탄하고 민주주의 가치와 자유수호를 위해 시위에 나선 미얀마 국민들의 민주화 의지를 지지한다”며 미얀마 군부의 인권 침해와 유혈진압을 즉각 멈출 것을 촉구했다.
한국자유총연맹 대구광역시지부는 이날 온라인 규탄대회를 시작으로 온·오프라인을 막론하고 단체 및 개별 회원들의 릴레이 참여를 통해 국제사회의 여론 조성에 힘써 미얀마 국민들이 자유와 평화를 되찾을 때까지 지원을 계속해 나갈 것임을 밝혔다.
