【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=이철우 경북도지사는 8일 영천 육군3사관학교 충성강당에서 1000여명의 사관생도들을 대상으로 특강을 진행하고 현장중심 리더로 성장해 주길 당부했다.

‘대한민국 청년장교, 역사를 돌아보며 미래의 길을 열자’라는 주제로 진행된 특강에서 이 지사는 “대한민국 존립자체가 기적”이라고 평가한 호세 무히카 우루과이 대통령의 말을 인용하면서 수많은 외침과 근대 냉전과 탈냉전의 흐름 속에서 공산화에 굴하지 않은 대한민국의 가치를 높게 평가하고 자부심을 가질 것을 주문했다.

또 현재 대한민국은 갈림길에 서 있다면서 수도권 일극체제를 극복하고 지방시대를 열어야 소득 5만불과 통합과 번영의 시대라는 미래를 열 수 있다고 역설했다.

특히, 도지사로서 지난 4년간 경험을 소개하며 대한민국 지방자치는 여전히 무늬만 있을 뿐이며, 분권형 헌법개정과 500만 규모의 경제권을 만들어 지방의 경쟁력을 키워야 한다고 강조했다.

끝으로, 청년 장교들에게 현장에서 답을 찾고 칭찬을 통해 사람을 얻는 리더가 돼 대한민국 최후의 보루가 돼달라는 당부도 잊지 않았다.
