의성군은 지난해 전체 가입농가 7,387농가 중 2,847농가에 145억원의 보험금을 지급하여 농작물재해보험이 농가경영의 안전판으로서의 역할을 하고 있다고 판단하고 있다. 또한 올해는 국도비 외에 추가로 군비를 확보하여 가입 보험료의 90%를 지원해 농가 부담금을 10%로 줄였다.
