【브레이크뉴스 의성】이성현 기자=의성군(군수 김주수)은 경북도의 인사발령에 따라 방주문(58) 씨가 2026년 1월 1일 자로 신임 의성군 부군수에 취임했다고 밝혔다.

방 부군수는 별도의 취임식 없이 충혼탑 참배를 시작으로 공식 업무에 들어갈 예정이다. 이후 1월 7일부터 부서별 주요 현안 업무 보고를 받고, 민생 현장을 직접 점검하며 본격적인 군정 운영 지원에 나설 계획이다.

방 부군수는 지난 2017년 의성군 일자리경제교통과장으로 근무한 이력이 있어, 이번 부임은 의성과의 두 번째 인연이다. 당시 지역 경제와 일자리 정책을 총괄하며 군정 전반에 대한 이해를 쌓은 바 있어, 현장 중심의 실질적인 행정 추진이 기대되고 있다.

특히 지역 현안에 대한 높은 이해도와 군민들과의 정서적 유대감을 바탕으로 현장의 목소리에 귀 기울이는 책임 행정을 펼칠 것으로 보인다. 8년 만에 부군수로 다시 의성을 찾은 방 부군수의 부임을 두고 지역사회의 기대감도 높아지고 있다.

방 부군수는 취임 소감을 통해 “과거 의성에서 근무했던 경험이 있어 다시 의성에 오게 된 것이 더욱 뜻깊다”며 “그동안 쌓아온 행정 경험을 바탕으로 도와 군을 잇는 가교 역할을 충실히 수행하고, 군민이 체감할 수 있는 변화와 군정 성과를 만들어가는 데 행정 역량을 집중하겠다”고 밝혔다.

이어 “의성의 백년대계인 대구경북신공항 건설과 미래 신성장 산업 육성 등 핵심 역점 사업들이 가시적인 성과로 이어질 수 있도록 900여 명의 공직자와 함께 현장을 누비며 최선을 다하겠다”고 포부를 전했다.

한편 경북 구미 출신인 방 부군수는 구미고등학교와 계명대학교 행정학과를 졸업했으며, 1994년 구미시에서 공직생활을 시작했다. 이후 경상북도 자치행정국 자치행정과와 인사과, 도지사 비서실 의전팀장을 거쳐 구미시 미래도시기획실장과 행정안전국장을 역임하는 등 풍부한 현장 중심의 행정 경험을 쌓았다. 최근에는 경상북도 도지사 비서실장으로 재직하며 도정 운영 전반을 총괄해 왔다.

Uiseong County Appoints Bang Ju-mun as Deputy Mayor

Uiseong County (Governor Kim Ju-su) announced that Bang Ju-mun (58) has been appointed as the new Deputy Mayor of Uiseong County, effective January 1, 2026, following a personnel appointment by North Gyeongsang Province.

Deputy Mayor Bang will begin his official duties with a visit to the War Memorial of Korea, without a separate inauguration ceremony. Starting January 7, he will receive reports on key pending issues from each department, personally inspect the livelihoods of residents, and begin to fully support county administration.

This marks Deputy Mayor Bang's second stint with Uiseong County, having previously served as the Director of the Employment, Economy, and Transportation Division in 2017. During that time, he oversaw local economic and employment policies, developing a comprehensive understanding of county administration. Based on his deep understanding of local issues and strong emotional connection with the county residents, he is expected to implement responsible administration that listens attentively to the voices of those on the ground. The local community is also anticipating the arrival of Deputy County Mayor Bang, who has returned to Uiseong after eight years as Deputy County Mayor.

In his inaugural address, Deputy County Mayor Bang stated, "Having previously worked in Uiseong, my return to Uiseong is especially meaningful. Building on my accumulated administrative experience, I will faithfully fulfill my role as a bridge between the province and the county, and focus my administrative capabilities on creating tangible changes and achievements for the county's residents."

He continued, "I will work with over 900 public officials to ensure that key projects, such as the construction of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport, a key Uiseong initiative, and the fostering of future growth industries, achieve tangible results."

A native of Gumi, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Deputy County Mayor Bang graduated from Gumi High School and Keimyung University with a degree in Public Administration. He began his public service career in Gumi City in 1994. He subsequently gained extensive field-oriented administrative experience, including positions in the Autonomous Administration Division and Personnel Division of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Autonomous Administration Bureau, as the Protocol Team Leader in the Governor's Office, and as Director of the Future City Planning Office and the Administrative Safety Bureau in Gumi City. Most recently, he served as the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do, overseeing all aspects of provincial administration.
