【브레이크뉴스 경북】박은정 기자=경산시(시장 조현일)가 지난 7일부터 경산지식산업지구 2단계 부지 내 ‘대규모 아울렛 유치 촉구를 위한 10만 서명운동’에 돌입했다고 밝혔다.

경산지식산업지구는 2012년부터 하양읍 대학리와 와촌면 소월리 일원에 115만 평 규모로 조성 중으로 1단계(2,856천㎡) 사업은 올해 말 준공을 앞두고 있으며 공정률은 98%, 분양률도 93%에 이른다. 

2단계(953천㎡) 사업도 최근 분양을 시작해 분양 필지에 대해서는 전량 분양을 완료했다. 분양률도 33.3%에 이르는 등 성공적인 개발 사업으로 평가받고 있다.

조현일 시장은 경산의 미래 성장 동력이 될 지식산업지구의 성공에 방점을 찍고, 대형 아울렛 유치에 사활을 걸고 국회와 관련 부처를 열심히 노크하고 있다.

지난 8월 국회를 방문해 윤두현 국회의원과 산업통상자원중소벤처기업위원회 소속 지역 의원을 차례로 만나 지식산업지구에 대규모 아울렛 유치 필요성을 설명하고 적극적인 지원을 요청했다.

최근 경산시청을 방문한 권성동 전 원내대표와 산자위 소속 양금희 국회의원을 만나 대규모 아울렛 유치 협조를 요청하기도 했다.

대규모 아울렛을 유치하면 약 2천 명의 지역 고용 창출과 연간 5백만 명 이상의 방문객이 지역을 찾을 것으로 예상되며, 8천억 원의 생산 및 5천억 원의 부가가치 유발과 더불어, 살고 싶은 정주 여건 완성으로 저녁이 밝은 도시, 새로운 도약의 계기가 될 수 있다는 구상이다.

경산시 관계자는 “시민 여러분의 뜨거운 의지가 아울렛 유치에 큰 힘이 될 것”이라며, “시민 여러분의 많은 홍보와 참여를 부탁드린다”고 말했다.
