군에 따르면 이번 캠페인은 3년간 지속된 코로나19와 어려운 경기 침체로 인해 참여율이 저조할 것이라는 예상을 뒤엎고 각계각층의 뜨거운 참여로 진행돼 예상 모금액의 240%가 넘는 성금을 모금했다.

의성군은 경북에서 유일하게 의성군 내 18개 읍면이 해마다 이웃돕기추진위원회를 구성하여 읍면 이웃돕기성금모금행사를 개최하고 있으며, 이를 바탕으로 이웃사랑 실천과 나눔 문화가 깊이 뿌리 내리고 있다.

김주수 의성군수는“유난히 추운 겨울 동안 군민들의 이웃에 대한 따뜻한 온정과 사랑으로 인해 높아진 나눔의 온도로 희망차게 2023년도를 시작할 수 있었던 것 같다”며, “군민 여러분의 소중한 마음은 지역의 어려운 분들에게 값지게 전달하여 더불어 살아가는 아름다운 지역사회를 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다.”고 전했다.
