이날 교육은 연1회 실시하는 법정 의무교육으로 의원 행동강령 준수, 부패방지, 부정청탁 및 금품등 수수의 금지, 갑질근절과 4대 폭력을 예방하여 의정활동을 위한 기본 소양 증진 및 투명한 조직문화 형성과 청렴한 의회상 정립을위해 마련됐다.

1교시엔 청렴교육 전문강사인 조증호 강사의 청렴, 반부패, 이해충돌방지, 갑질근절 교육을 실시하였고, 2교시에는 폭력예방교육 전문강사인 이자리 강사의 성희롱, 성매매, 성폭력, 가정폭력 등 4대 폭력 예방 교육을 실시했다.

박교상 구미시의회 의장은 “청렴과 성인지감수성은 공직자로서 가져야 할 필수덕목인 만큼, 이번 교육을 통해 청렴하고 폭력으로부터 안전한 성 평등 조직문화를 조성하는 등 앞으로도 시민들에게 신뢰받는 청렴하고 건전한 구미시의회가 되겠다."고 말했다.
