지난 6일 제280회 구미시의회 임시회 기간 산업건설위원들은 구미전자정보기술원 본원 공정혁신시뮬레이션센터 등을 직접 둘러보며 점검에 나섰다.

첨단 전자산업 자원순환 녹색융합클러스터 사업, 슈퍼컴퓨터 기반 시뮬레이션 지원 사업에 대한 현황을 청취하기도 했다.

이어 금오공대 벤처창업관에 위치한 벤처기업집적시설에서 벤처 기업집적시설 지원사업 관련 현황을 청취하고, 라씨 외 2개 기업을 방문해 직원들을 격려하는 시간을 가졌다. 

산업건설위원회 위원들은 “구미전자정보기술원이 구미만의 차별화된 기술 개발과 이차전지, 푸드테크, 스마트팜 등 미래 먹거리 산업 발굴에 적극적으로 대응하는 것이 필요하다”며 “특히 빅데이터와 AI기반의 신기술 관련 창업이 촉진될 수 있도록 산학 협력 체계를 공고히 해야한다”고 말했다.

김낙관 위원장은 “구미전자정보기술원과 금오공대 창업보육센터가 의회 및  관련 부서와의 지속적인 협력을 통해 구미시의 기술 혁신과 산업 발전에 더욱 힘써주기를 바란다”라고 거듭 당부했다.

The members of the Industrial Construction Committee said, “Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute should actively respond to the development of differentiated technologies unique to Gumi and the discovery of future food industries such as secondary batteries, food tech, and smart farms,” and “In particular, the industry-academia cooperation system should be strengthened so that startups related to new technologies based on big data and AI can be promoted.”

Chairman Kim Nak-kwan repeatedly urged, “I hope that Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute and Kumoh National Institute of Technology Startup Incubation Center will continue to work with the council and related departments to further contribute to Gumi City’s technological innovation and industrial development.”
