【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시의회 의원연구단체 ‘경주시 신라왕경과 세계문화유산을 이용한 관광활성화정책 연구모임’은 12일 소회의실에서 착수보고회를 개최했다고 13일 밝혔다.

‘경주시 신라왕경과 세계문화유산을 이용한 관광활성화정책 연구모임’은 이진락 대표의원 및 김동해 의원으로 구성되어 있으며, 이번 연구용역은 경주의 신라왕경과 세계문화유산을 관광콘텐츠화하여 관광자원을 다양화하는 것에 그 목적을 두고 있다.

이날 보고회에는 연구단체 소속 의원뿐만 아니라 동국네트워크 대표 윤석준, 한국관광정보정책연구원 변성희 원장, 前 경주문화원 부원장 최재영 박사, 前 신라문화유산연구원 박방룡 박사가 참석하여 함께 의견을 나누었다.

착수보고회에서는 경주시 관광객 통계와 세계문화유산 상품화 성공 사례분석을 통해 경주시 관광 활성화 전략을 구상했으며, 관광정책 연구에 대한 방향과 구체적인 목적 설정에 대하여 질의응답 및 토론하는 시간을 가졌다.

이진락 대표의원은 “관광객 숫자에 초점을 맞추는 관광통계가 아닌 관광추세에 초점을 맞춤으로써, 청년들이 일시적으로 즐기다가 가버리는 것이 아니라 오래 머물고 다시 찾게 되는 관광도시 경주를 만들어야 한다.”면서 시대적 흐름에 맞는 정책의 필요성을 강조했다. 또한, “관련 부서와 연구원들이 경주시에서 추진할 수 있는 정책 개발 연구에 힘써줄 것을 당부드린다.”고 덧붙였다.
