【브레이크뉴스 경주】박영재 기자=경주시의회(의장 이동협)는 지난 21일, 2025 APEC 정상회의의 성공적인 개최를 위한 시민참여 의식 고취를 목적으로 대대적인 홍보 캠페인을 실시했다.

지난해에 이어 올해도 APEC 정상회의 준비에 적극적으로 나선 경주시의회는, 이번 캠페인을 경주 대표 관광지인 황리단길에서 펼쳤다. 

이동협 의장과 2025 APEC 정상회의 추진지원 특별위원회 위원 등 시의원, 의회사무국 직원 40여 명이 참여한 이번 캠페인에서는 시민들과 관광객들에게 APEC 홍보 리플렛과 홍보물품을 배포하며 APEC에 대한 관심과 이해를 촉진했다.

이날 캠페인을 통해 경주시민과 관광객들은 APEC에 대해 쉽게 이해할 수 있도록 안내를 받았으며, 향후 APEC 관련 활동에 적극 참여할 수 있도록 독려했다.

이동협 경주시의회 의장은 “이번 캠페인이 경주시민뿐만 아니라 전국에서 방문한 관광객들이 APEC에 대한 관심을 높이는 계기가 되기를 바란다”며, “앞으로도 시민과 함께하는 APEC 분위기 조성을 위해 현장에서 시의회가 적극적으로 참여하고 노력할 것”이라고 밝혔다.

이락우 2025 APEC 정상회의 추진지원 특별위원장은 “그동안 간담회와 세미나 등 다양한 방식으로 APEC을 홍보해왔지만, 더 넓은 참여를 유도하기 위해 현장 홍보를 진행하게 됐다”고 전하며, “앞으로도 관광객이 많이 방문하는 장소에서 APEC 관련 리플렛 및 홍보물을 배포하며 시민들의 참여를 이끌어내겠다”고 덧붙였다.

 Gyeongju City Council Conducts 2025 APEC Summit Promotion Campaign

On the 21st, Gyeongju City Council (Chairman Lee Dong-hyeop) conducted a large-scale promotional campaign with the aim of raising awareness of citizen participation for the successful hosting of the 2025 APEC Summit.

The Gyeongju City Council, which has been actively preparing for the APEC Summit this year as well as last year, held this campaign at Hwangridan-gil, a representative tourist attraction in Gyeongju.

In this campaign, about 40 city council members, including Chairman Lee Dong-hyeop and members of the Special Committee for Supporting the Promotion of the 2025 APEC Summit, and staff from the council secretariat participated, distributing APEC promotional leaflets and promotional materials to citizens and tourists, promoting interest and understanding of APEC.

Through this campaign, Gyeongju citizens and tourists were provided with easy-to-understand guidance on APEC and encouraged to actively participate in APEC-related activities in the future.

Lee Dong-hyeop, Chairman of the Gyeongju City Council, said, “I hope this campaign will be an opportunity for not only Gyeongju citizens but also tourists from all over the country to increase their interest in APEC,” and added, “The city council will continue to actively participate and work on-site to create an APEC atmosphere where citizens can participate together.”

Lee Rak-woo, Special Committee Chairman for the Promotion of the 2025 APEC Summit, said, “We have promoted APEC in various ways, such as through meetings and seminars, but we decided to conduct on-site promotion to encourage wider participation,” and added, “We will continue to distribute APEC-related leaflets and promotional materials in places where many tourists visit to encourage citizens’ participation.”
