1일 안동시에 따르면 지난 4월 21일부터 23일까지 구미시민운동장에서 열린 ‘2025 아시아육상선수권 국가대표 최종 선발전’에서 유정미 선수는 멀리뛰기 종목에서 5m86을 기록, 뛰어난 기량으로 태극마크를 획득했다.

유정미 선수는 오는 5월 27일부터 31일까지 개최되는 ‘2025 구미아시아육상경기선수권대회’에 출전해 아시아 45개국 1,200여 명의 정상급 선수들과 함께 경쟁할 예정이다.

2017년부터 안동시청에 입단한 유정미 선수는 팀 내 ‘핑크군단’으로 불리며 큰 인기를 모으고 있으며, 지난 4월 1~3일 열린 ‘2025 김해KTFL 전국실업육상경기대회’에서는 5m96의 기록으로 멀리뛰기 1위를 차지하는 등 꾸준한 성과를 보여주고 있다.

안동시 관계자는 “유정미 선수의 국가대표 선발은 안동시의 위상을 전국적으로 알리는 뜻깊은 성과”라며 “다가올 아시아선수권대회에서도 최고의 기량을 펼칠 수 있도록 전폭적인 지원과 응원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다.
