24일 안동시에 따르면 이번 현장 방문은 산불로 인한 지역 축제 취소와 관광객 감소 등으로 침체된 지역 관광을 되살리기 위한 첫걸음으로, 유 장관은 안동찜닭골목과 월영교, 하회마을 등 주요 관광지를 직접 찾았다.

유 장관은 전통시장 상인들과 만나 관광상품 개발과 방문객 수용태세 개선 방안 등을 논의했고, 대표 야간관광지인 월영교를 방문해 문화유산 프로그램 ‘월영야행’의 사전 점검에도 나섰다.

24일에는 하회마을에서 장미란 문체부 제2차관, 김병곤 경북도 문화관광체육국장, 서영충 한국관광공사 사장 직무대리 등과 함께 관광업계 관계자 간담회를 열어 지역의 건의사항을 청취하고 실질적인 관광 회복 방안을 모색했다.

이와 함께 임하면 복지회관에서는 산불 피해 주민과 자원봉사자를 위한 ‘감사제’ 행사를 개최해 따뜻한 격려의 시간을 가졌다. 행사에서는 영주 인삼 떡갈비 덮밥, 김제 대패삼겹쌀마리 등 지역 대표 축제의 특색 있는 먹거리를 제공하며, 문체부 관계자들이 직접 배식 봉사에 참여해 위로의 메시지를 전했다.

유인촌 장관은 “정부는 산불 피해지역의 조속한 복구뿐 아니라 관광 위축에 따른 지역경제 침체를 막기 위해 업계와 함께 총력을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.
