오 군수는 이날 간담회에서 “지속적인 지방교부세 감소와 같은 어려운 재정 여건 속에서도 국도비 공모사업을 통해 1,455억 원을 확보하고, 건전 재정 기조 아래 예산을 2배 이상 증액하는 등 의미 있는 성과를 거뒀다”고 설명했다. 실제로 영양군의 예산은 2018년 2,823억 원에서 2025년 5,167억 원으로 확대됐다.

풍력발전 기금도 2022년 20.3억 원에서 2025년 26억 원으로 늘려 복지 재원을 확충했고, 2조 5천억 원 규모의 양수발전소 유치와 대통령 공약에 반영된 ‘남북 9축 고속도로 조기 건설’도 가시적인 성과로 꼽혔다.

오 군수는 “민선8기 4년차에는 사상 최악의 산불 피해 복구, 농업 혁신, 관광 활성화, 정주환경 개선, 따뜻한 복지 등 7대 핵심 과제를 중심으로 희망찬 영양을 완성하는 데 행정력을 집중하겠다”고 강조했다.

그는 이어 “군민과 언론인의 따뜻한 관심과 응원이 있었기에 ‘행복한 변화’에 도전할 수 있었다”며, “남은 임기 동안 더 높이 도약해 누구나 다시 찾고 싶고, 머무르고 싶은 영양을 만들겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.
