영양문인협회(회장 황태진)가 주관한 이번 예술제는 조지훈 시인, 우리나라를 대표하는 청록파 시인이자 현대시의 주류를 형성한 작가를 기리는 행사로, 시낭송, 사생대회, 문예 백일장 등 다채로운 프로그램이 마련되었다. 백일장은 ‘아침, 여행, 나무’라는 주제로 초등부부터 대학·일반부까지 진행되었으며, 사생대회는 ‘주실마을 풍경’을 그리는 시간으로 꾸며졌다.

특히 이번 예술제는 지난 3월 발생한 산불 피해를 함께 나누고 이를 극복해 나가자는 메시지를 담아 더욱 뜻깊은 자리가 되었다. 개막식에서는 산불로 어려움을 겪고 있는 지역민들과 피해자들에 대한 추모와 위로의 메시지가 이어졌다.

오도창 영양군수는 “조지훈 예술제는 문향의 고장 영양을 대표하는 종합문화예술 행사로, 예술을 통해 위로와 희망을 전하고자 한다”며, “산불 피해 복구를 위한 지역 연대와 관심이 확산되기를 바란다”고 말했다.

18회째를 맞은 이번 예술제는 조지훈 시인의 문학 정신을 계승하고, 전국의 문학 애호가들이 참여하는 문화예술 소통의 장으로 자리매김했다. 영양군은 이번 예술제를 계기로 지역 활성화와 산불 피해 복구를 위한 다양한 문화 행사를 지속적으로 추진할 예정이다.

Yeongyang-gun (Governor Oh Do-chang) successfully held the 18th Jo Ji-hoon Art Festival in Jusil Village, Yeongyang-gun from May 9 (Fri) to 10 (Sat).

This art festival was especially meaningful because it contained a message to share the damage from the forest fire that occurred in March and to overcome it together. This art festival, now in its 18th year, inherits the literary spirit of poet Jo Ji-hoon and has established itself as a venue for cultural and artistic communication in which literature enthusiasts from all over the country participate. Yeongyang County plans to continue to promote various cultural events for regional revitalization and wildfire recovery using this art festival as an opportunity.
