【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구지방고용노동청(청장 직무대리 김선재)은 7월 15일 경산에 위치한 한 택배회사를 직접 방문해 폭염 대응 실태를 점검했다고 밝혔다.

이번 점검은 폭염 속에서 일하는 근로자의 생명과 건강 보호를 위한 ‘폭염안전 5대 기본수칙’ 이행 여부를 확인하기 위해 진행됐다.

이번 점검은 고용노동부가 지난 5월 28일 발표한 ‘폭염 안전 특별대책’의 일환으로, 산업안전보건 규칙 개정안이 본격 시행되기 전 현장 이행 상황을 직접 점검하기 위한 조치다.

특히 6월 28일부터 폭염 경보가 이어지고 있는 대구·경북 지역에서는 택배 및 물류업에 종사하는 근로자들이 고온 환경에 노출되기 쉬운 만큼, 근로자 건강 관리에 각별한 주의가 필요한 시기다.

김선재 청장 직무대리는 현장 근로자들의 작업 환경을 직접 살피고, 시원한 물 제공, 냉방·통풍 장치 가동 여부, 휴게시설 확보, 휴게시간 준수 등을 집중 점검했다. 아울러, 수분보충제 및 식염포도당 등 온열질환 예방 물품을 배포하며 폭염 대응에 만전을 기해줄 것을 당부했다.

김 직무대리는 “폭염 자체는 피할 수 없지만, 노사 모두가 관심을 가지고 5대 수칙을 철저히 준수한다면 온열질환은 충분히 예방 가능한 위험”이라며, “특히 지난 11일 체감온도 33℃ 이상일 경우 2시간마다 20분 이상 휴식 부여 등을 명시한 산업안전보건기준 개정안이 규제심사를 통과한 만큼, 현장에서는 사전 예방 조치에 더욱 철저를 기해달라”고 강조했다.

In particular, in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions where heat wave warnings have been in effect since June 28, workers in the delivery and logistics industries are easily exposed to high temperatures, so special attention is needed to manage workers’ health.

Acting Commissioner Kim said, “The heat wave itself cannot be avoided, but if both labor and management pay attention and thoroughly follow the five major rules, heat-related illnesses are a sufficiently preventable risk,” and emphasized,

“In particular, since the revised Industrial Safety and Health Standards, which stipulates that workers be given at least 20 minutes of rest every two hours when the perceived temperature is 33℃ or higher, passed regulatory review on the 11th, we urge the field to be even more thorough in taking preventive measures.”
