봉화군은 23일 오후 봉성면 창평리 일원에서 임대형 스마트팜단지 준공식을 개최했다고 밝혔다. 이날 행사에는 박현국 군수를 비롯한 군의원, 유관기관장, 농업인단체, 지역주민 등 300여 명이 참석했다.

해당 사업은 2023년 2월 경북도 공모사업 선정 이후 2024년 7월 실시설계를 마치고 같은 해 10월 착공, 지난해 12월 시험가동을 거쳐 이번에 준공됐다.

군은 총사업비 245억 원을 투입해 5.3ha 부지에 3.6ha 규모의 ICT 기반 스마트온실 2동과 연구지원센터, 자원재생시설, 자연정화조 등을 조성했다.

특히 공기열 히트펌프를 활용한 에너지 공동이용 시스템을 도입해 냉난방비 절감 효과를 높였으며, 양액 재활용 설비를 통해 저탄소 친환경 농업 실현에도 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

이번 스마트팜단지에는 지난 2년간 군 자체 교육과정을 거쳐 선발된 17명과 경북도 혁신밸리 출신 4명 등 총 7개 팀 21명의 제1기 청년농업인이 입주한다. 이들은 올해 1월 토마토 정식을 시작으로 10월에는 딸기 재배에 들어가는 등 본격적인 영농 활동을 펼칠 예정이다.

임대형 스마트팜은 딸기 온실(A동)에 4개 팀 12명, 토마토 온실(B동)에 3개 팀 9명이 입주하며, 팀당 최대 4,590㎡ 규모 공간에서 3년간 실습형 스마트농업 경영을 경험하게 된다. 군은 이를 통해 청년농의 기술 습득과 창업 역량 강화에 기여할 것으로 보고 있다.

박현국 봉화군수는 “임대형 스마트팜 준공이 청년 인구 유입을 촉진하고 선진 농업으로 도약하는 전환점이 될 것”이라며 “기후변화와 농촌 고령화로 인한 노동력 부족 문제를 스마트팜으로 극복하고 봉화 농업의 대전환을 이끌어가겠다”고 말했다.

They plan to engage in full-scale farming activities, starting with tomato planting in January of this year and beginning strawberry cultivation in October.

For the rental-type smart farms, 12 individuals in 4 teams will move into the strawberry greenhouse (Building A), and 9 individuals in 3 teams will move into the tomato greenhouse (Building B). Each team will experience practical smart farming management for three years in a space of up to 4,590 square meters. The county anticipates that this will contribute to the young farmers' acquisition of technical skills and the strengthening of their entrepreneurial capabilities.
