수성문화재단은 지난 4일 벚꽃이 만개한 수성못에 대만 관광객 36명이 방문했다고 밝혔다. 이들은 대구공항과 대만 타오위안공항을 잇는 전세기를 이용해 한국 벚꽃 투어 일정으로 대구를 찾았다.
관광객들은 수성못 일대에서 봄 풍경을 즐기는 한편, 수성못 그림책도서관에서 수성구 캐릭터 ‘뚜비’의 환영을 받고 ‘뚜비 느린 우체통’을 활용한 그림엽서 만들기 체험에 참여했다.
수성문화재단은 지난해부터 대만을 의료·웰니스 관광 제2의 핵심 타깃 시장으로 설정하고 현지 마케팅을 추진해왔다. 올해는 대만 대형 여행사와 협력해 ‘뚜비’ 캐릭터를 활용한 체험형 관광 코스를 개발하며 관광객 유치에 속도를 내고 있다.
특히 건강과 미식에 관심이 높은 대만 관광객 특성을 반영해 한방과 웰니스 체험 중심의 ‘K-웰니스 아카데미’와 한국전통문화체험관의 ‘동의보감 음식체험’ 프로그램을 집중 홍보하고 있다.
이 같은 노력의 결과로 지난 3월 말에는 대만 발효음식 연구기관 ‘베허쉐이 푸드 라이브러리 타이완’ 관계자 21명이 해당 프로그램에 참여하는 성과도 거뒀다.
수성문화재단은 하반기에도 한국관광공사와 연계한 대만 현지 홍보 행사를 추진하고, ‘뚜비’를 활용한 특화 관광 콘텐츠를 지속적으로 알리며 대만 관광객 유치 확대에 박차를 가할 계획이다.

The Daegu Suseong Cultural Foundation is focusing its efforts on revitalizing local tourism by actively seeking to attract more Taiwanese tourists.
The Suseong Cultural Foundation announced that 36 Taiwanese tourists visited Suseong Lake on the 4th, when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. They arrived in Daegu on a Korean cherry blossom tour itinerary via a chartered flight connecting Daegu Airport and Taiwan Taoyuan Airport.

As a result of these efforts, 21 officials from the ‘Beihe Shui Food Library Taiwan,’ a Taiwanese fermented food research institute, participated in the program in late March.
In the second half of the year, the Suseong Cultural Foundation plans to accelerate efforts to attract more Taiwanese tourists by organizing local promotional events in Taiwan in conjunction with the Korea Tourism Organization and continuously promoting specialized tourism content featuring ‘Tubby.’
