대구 수성경찰서는 5일 김 구청장에 대해 의료법 위반 혐의가 인정되지 않는다며 불송치 결정을 내렸다고 밝혔다.

경찰 관계자는 “김 구청장이 의료법 위반 행위를 교사했다고 보기 어렵다고 판단했다”며 “의료행위를 지시하거나 주도했다는 점이 입증되지 않았다”고 설명했다.

이번 사건은 지난해 7월 한 시민의 고발로 시작됐다. 고발인은 김 구청장이 2022년 코로나19 유행 시기에 수성구청 집무실에서 수성구보건소 소장인 의사에게 수액 주사를 맞는 등 의료기관이 아닌 곳에서 의료행위를 받아 의료법을 어겼다고 주장했다.

김 구청장은 당시 “코로나19 대응 업무로 과로하던 중 갑작스럽게 몸 상태가 나빠졌으나, 병원 방문이 어려운 상황이었다. 보건소 소장인 의사에게 정상적으로 진료를 받았다”고 해명했다.

또 고발인 A씨가 인사 문제로 불만을 품고 자신을 악의적으로 고발한 것이라고 주장했다.

경찰은 김 구청장을 소환 조사하는 등 사실관계를 확인해 왔으며, 최종적으로 ‘혐의 없음’으로 결론 내렸다.
