【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=수성구청장 선거에 출마한 더불어민주당 박정권 후보가 수성구를 인공지능 중심 도시, 이른바 ‘AI 신도시’로 전환하겠다는 청사진을 내놨다. 

박 후보는 13일 발표에서 “수성구를 대구를 넘어 국가 단위의 AI 허브로 키우겠다”는 포부를 밝혔다.

박 후보의 구상 핵심은 수성알파시티를 중심으로 연호지구, 군부대 이전지 등을 아우르는 대규모 첨단 자족 신도시를 조성하는 데 있다. 

이 안은 연구개발, 기업 활동, 주거, 문화가 어우러진 통합형 도시로, AI 연구개발 단지와 AX(인공지능 전환) 파운드리 거점을 구축하고 글로벌 기업 유치에도 나설 계획이다.

산업 전략으로는 AI 기술의 연구, 생산, 공급이 이뤄지는 집적단지 조성이 포함됐다. 박 후보는 규제 완화와 인센티브로 앵커기업을 유치하고, 관련 중소·벤처기업이 함께 성장하는 산업 생태계 조성을 약속했다.

인재 양성 방안도 밝혔다. 박 후보는 “지역 대학과 기업을 연계한 맞춤형 교육 시스템으로 교육과 취업을 자연스럽게 잇고, 청년들이 지역에 안정적으로 정착할 수 있는 구조를 만들겠다”고 말했다. 이와 함께 교통, 주거, 문화 인프라를 한데 모은 자족형 생활권 조성 계획도 내놓았다.

박 후보는 “수성구를 AI 신도시로 재설계해 단순 개발이 아니라 산업과 일자리가 함께 성장하는 도시로 만들 것”이라며 “중앙 네트워크와 정책 역량을 최대한 활용해 글로벌 경쟁력을 갖추겠다”고 강조했다.

Park Jeong-kwon, the Democratic Party of Korea candidate running for the Suseong-gu mayoral election, has unveiled a blueprint to transform Suseong-gu into an AI-centered city, a so-called "AI New City."

In an announcement on the 13th, Candidate Park expressed his ambition to "develop Suseong-gu into a national-level AI hub that extends beyond Daegu."

The core of Candidate Park's vision lies in creating a large-scale, self-sufficient, high-tech new city centered around Suseong Alpha City, encompassing the Yeonho District and former military base sites.

This plan envisions an integrated city where research and development, corporate activities, residential areas, and culture coexist. It includes plans to establish an AI R&D complex and an AX (AI Transformation) foundry base, as well as actively attract global companies.

The industrial strategy includes the creation of an integrated complex where AI technology research, production, and supply take place. Candidate Park promised to attract anchor companies through deregulation and incentives, and to foster an industrial ecosystem where related small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and venture companies can grow together.

He also revealed plans for talent development. Candidate Park stated, “I will create a structure that allows young people to settle stably in the region by naturally linking education and employment through a customized education system that connects local universities and businesses.” Along with this, he unveiled a plan to create a self-sufficient living zone that integrates transportation, housing, and cultural infrastructure.

Candidate Park emphasized, “I will redesign Suseong-gu as an AI new city to transform it into a city where industry and jobs grow together, rather than through simple development,” adding, “I will secure global competitiveness by fully utilizing central networks and policy capabilities.”
