대경중기청에 따르면 팁스(TIPS)는 민간과 정부가 공동으로 유망 창업기업을 발굴해 육성하는사업으로, 민간 운영사가 선투자(1∼2억원)한 창업기업에 정부가 연구개발(R&D, 최대 5억원), 사업화(최대 1억원), 해외 마케팅(최대 1억원)등을연계 지원한다.

이번 통합 공고는 4개 세부사업으로 구성돼 있다.

먼저 창업지원 대표 사업인 팁스(TIPS)는 2013년에 신설돼 올해로 시행9년차를 맞이하고 있고, 프리팁스(Pre-TIPS)와 포스트팁스(Post-TIPS)는 각각 팁스(TIPS)후보기업군 발굴과 팁스(TIPS) 졸업기업 후속지원을 위해 2018년 이후 차례로 신설된 사업이다.
