위덕대학교는 제9대 김봉갑(金峯甲) 총장 취임식을 오는 21일 오전 11시 위덕대학교 갈마관에서 거행한다고 16일 밝혔다.

김봉갑 총장은1991년 대한불교진각종 신락심인당 주교를 시작으로 진각종 제 11대, 13대, 14대 종의회 의원, 제35대 현정원장,제30대 통리원장등 주요 보직을 거쳤다.

종단 산하기관으로는 밀교신문사 편집인, 비로자나청소년협회장, 진각복지재단 대표이사 등을 역임하였다.

대외 활동으로는 한일불교문화교류협의회 이사장, 재단법인 불교방송 이사, 불교텔레비전주식회사 이사, 한국불교종단협의회 차석부회장 등을 역임하였다.

현재 제37대 현정원장과 제15대 종의회 의원, 학교법인 회당학원 이사, 부산 명륜심인당 주교를 맡고 있다.

신임 김봉갑 총장은 “과감한 개혁을 통해 지역과 학생의 수요에 맞춘 학습 중시의 유연한 교육 패러다임으로 대학조직과 교육의 질적 변화를 만들어 가겠다. 구성원 하나하나가 참된 주인이 되어 책임과 의무를 다하는 자주적인 대학을 만들겠다”고 각오를 밝혔다.

김봉갑 총장은 지난 12월 3일 제9대 위덕대학교 총장으로 임명되었으며 임기는 4년이다.

취임식은 코로나 확산 방지를 위해 방역 수칙을 준수하며 참석인원을 제한하여 진행될 예정이다.

Widuk University announced on the 16th that the inauguration ceremony of the 9th President Bong-Gap Kim (金峯甲) would be held at 11 am on December 21 at the Karma Hall of Widuk University.

President Kim Bong-gap served as the 11th, 13th, and 14th member of the Jingak Order, the 35th President of the Hyeonjeongwon, and the 30th President of Tongri, starting with the bishop of Shinraksimdang in 1991.

He served as editor of esoteric newspapers, president of Virojana Youth Association, and representative director of Jingak Welfare Foundation.

As for his external activities, he has served as the chairman of the Korea-Japan Buddhist Cultural Exchange Association, the director of Buddhist Broadcasting Foundation, the director of Buddhist Television Co., Ltd., and the second vice president of the Korean Buddhist Association.

He currently serves as the 37th president of the Hyeonjeong, the 15th member of the Jong-seok assembly, the director of the school corporation synagogue academy, and the bishop of Busan Myeongryun Shimin-dang.

The new president, Bong-Gap Kim, said, “Through drastic reforms, we will make qualitative changes in the university organization and education with a flexible education paradigm that emphasizes learning tailored to the needs of the region and students. Each member will become a true owner and create an independent university that fulfills its responsibilities and duties.”

President Kim Bong-gap was appointed as the 9th President of Widuk University on December 3, and his term is 4 years.

His inauguration ceremony will be held with a limited number of attendees while complying with quarantine rules to prevent the spread of Corona.
