26일 안동시에 따르면 이날 권 시장은 라오스 노동부에서 캄싱사밧 아누선 라오스 노동사회복지부 국장을만나 안동시와 라오스 간 우호협력과 발전을 기대한다며 협약서에 서명했다.

양해각서에 따라 안동시와 라오스 노동사회복지부는 농업 분야 상호 교류를 증진하고 계절근로자 도입 등 농업 인력의 원활한 수급에 협력하기로 했다.

안동시는 계절근로자의 근로조건과 인권보호에 노력하고, 인권침해 발생시피해 구제를 지원키로 했다.

라오스 노동사회복지부 고용국은 계절근로자가 국내로 입국하기 전까지 모든 행정 절차를 지원한다. 특히, 무단이탈 방지를 위해 관리요원도 배치할예정이다.

이번 협약에 따라 내년 4월경부터 상하반기 라오스 계절근로자 약 500여 명이 관내 영농 현장에 투입될 예정이다. 대상은 25~50세 남녀 농업 종사자로, 범죄경력자나 불법 체류 사실이 있는 자, 코로나19 감염 의심자 등은 제외한다.
