【브레이크뉴스 영천】이성현 기자=영천시(시장 최기문)는 농업인구 감소와 고령화에 따른 농업인력 부족 등으로 쇠퇴하는 농촌을 청년농업인이 아이디어를 마음껏 펼칠 수 있는 기회의 땅으로 만들고자 ‘청년농업인 농식품 아이디어 콘테스트’를 개최한다고 26일 밝혔다.
시에 따르면 아이디어 콘테스트는 농업분야 자유주제로 농산물 생산, 가공, 판매, 체험, 관광 등 다양한 분야에서 발상의 전환, 소소한 개선사항, 타 산업과의 융·복합 등 사업화 아이디어를 공모한다.
1977년 이후 출생한 농업인이나 예비 농업인이면 거주지 제한 없이 응모할 수 있으며, 콘테스트에 선발되면 자부담 10%를 포함해 개인당 1억원 범위 안에서 아이디어 실현에 소요되는 시설, 기자재 구입 자금이 지원된다.
타 지역 거주 선발자는 사업 시작 전까지 영천시로 전입해야 하고, 보조금으로 지원한 시설과 기계의 사후관리 기간 동안 농업에 종사해야 한다는 조건이 달린다.
참가 신청은 2월 17일까지 영천시 농업기술센터 농촌지도과(인력육성담당)에서 방문 접수받고 있으며 신청서류 등 자세한 사항은 영천시농업기술센터 홈페이지 공지사항에서 확인할 수 있다.
최기문 영천시장은 “청년농업인 육성은 영천시 농업시책의 최우선 과제로 단계별 촘촘한 지원 사업을 마련하고 있다.”라며 “다양한 지원시책을 통해 농촌에서 청년이 아이디어와 꿈을 펼칠 수 있는 토대를 마련하겠다.”라고 밝혔다.
