청도군(군수 김하수)에 따르면 이번 축제는 ‘마음껏 펼쳐라! 뜨겁게 환호하라! 승리를 노래하라!’라는 슬로건으로 전국 유일의 소싸움 전용 돔 경기장에서 펼쳐진다.

14일 개막 첫날에는 토너먼트 방식의 체급별 소싸움경기를,15·16일 주말에는 짜릿함과 긴장감을 더하는 소싸움경기가 진행된다.

총상금 1억 3천만 원이 걸린 체급별 소싸움경기는 대백두급, 소백두급,대태백급, 소태백급, 대한강급, 소한강급의 6개 체급으로 나뉘어 진행되며, 14일 경기에서는 치열한 예선전을 거쳐 4강에 진출한 싸움소 중최고를 가리기 위한 불꽃 튀는 명승부가 펼쳐진다.

또한 이번 축제에서는 화려한 개막퍼포먼스와 가수 김희재의 축하공연을 시작으로, 트로트가수 남승민, 지원이와 다양한 장르의 실력 있는 인디음악가들의 콘서트, 마칭밴드 퍼레이드, 인형극, 마술쇼, 마임쇼, 댄스공연 등 다채로운 무대공연으로 관람객들에게 풍성한 볼거리를 제공한다.
