【브레이크뉴스 대구 】이성현 기자= 대구농수산물유통관리공사(이하 공사)가 5일 공식 출범한다. 

대구시에 따르면 약 1년간의 설립 준비 기간을 거친 공사는 5일 오후 2시 매천동 소재 사옥에서 홍준표 대구광역시장, 김상덕 대구농수산물유통관리공사 사장 등이 참석한 가운데 현판 제막식을 갖고 본격적인 출범을 알릴 계획이다.

1988년에 개장한 대구농수산물도매시장은 전국 34개 공영도매시장 중 3위의 거래 규모를 자랑하는 대규모 도매시장임에도 불구하고 그동안 유통환경 변화와 전문적 운영관리에 어려움이 있었다. 

대구시는 지난 2022년 공사 설립 기본계획을 수립하고, 지방공기업평가원 타당성 검토 용역과 주민공청회, 행정안전부 협의를 거쳐 2023년 11월 시의회에서 공사설립 조례안 및 출자동의안이 의결돼 공사 설립에 대한 행정절차를 완료했다.

공사는 대구광역시가 현물을 포함해 4천489억 원의 자본금을 출자했으며, 조직인력은 1처 1실 5팀, 68명 규모로 운영될 예정이다. 

김상덕 사장은 서울시농수산식품공사 유통본부 부장, 농협경제연구소 연구위원 등 다양한 실무경력을 바탕으로 농수산물 온라인 시장과 유통구조 혁신에 전문지식을 갖춘 적임자로 평가받는 인물로 “앞으로 농수산물도매시장은 ‘e-마켓플레이스’ 등 다양한 신규사업 추진과 농수산물 유통과정의 쇄신을 통해 대대적인 경영혁신을 이루겠다”고 밝혔다. 

대구시는 공사 출범과 함께 도매시장 이전사업에 박차를 가할 방침이다. 4천100억여 원을 들여 달성군 하빈면으로 옮기는 이전사업은 작년 12월 농림축산식품부의 시설현대화사업 공모 신청 후, 올해 2월 말 그 심사 결과를 앞두고 있다. 이번 공사 출범과 도매시장 이전사업이 시너지를 효과로 더욱 탄력이 붙을 것으로 기대하고 있다.

홍준표 대구광역시장은 “대구농수산물유통관리공사는 공영도매시장 관리체계를 시(市) 직영에서 지방공사로 전환해 운영하는 전국 최초의 사례이다”며, “앞으로 농수산물 유통구조를 변화하는 유통환경에 적합하게 개선해 나가고, 투명한 거래 질서 확립을 통해 시민들에게 신선한 농수산물을 안정적으로 공급할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
