【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시의회 의원연구단체인 ‘경주시 출산·양육정책 연구모임’(이하 출산·양육 연구모임)은 지난 5일 출산·양육정책 연구활동의 일환으로 충청북도 제천시를 대상으로 선진지 견학을 실시했다고 9일 밝혔다.

‘출산·양육 연구모임’은 김종우 의원을 대표로 하여, 임활·오상도·최재필 의원으로 구성되어 있으며, 이번 선진지 견학 방문대상은 제천시의회와 제천시육아종합지원센터로 총 2개소다.

제천시의회에서는 출산·양육에 관한 현안 및 의회의 중점적인 역할에 대하여 논의했으며, 제천시육아종합지원센터에서는 제천시 여성가족과 및 센터 직원들과 함께 사업의 추진배경, 예산규모, 애로사항 등에 대한 정보를 공유하고 시설을 둘러보는 시간을 가졌다.

‘출산·양육 연구모임’은 이번 선진지 견학과 7월 실시된 연구용역 중간보고 결과를 바탕으로 실효성 있는 정책이 마련될 수 있도록 연구용역 추진 전반에 걸친 검토를 이어갈 예정이다.

김종우 대표의원은 “제천시는 경주시보다는 인구의 규모는 작으나 육아종합지원센터, 공공형 실내스포츠 놀이시설 등 제천시만의 정책을 추진하고 있는 점을 확인할 수 있었다.”면서, “정책 추진에 따른 민간기관·시설과의 상생방안에 대한 토론을 통해 경주시 출산·양육정책의 방향성을 생각할 수 있었다.”라고 말했다.

The ‘Childbirth and Childcare Research Group’ will continue to review the entire research project so that effective policies can be established based on the results of this advanced region tour and the interim report of the research project conducted in July.

Representative Kim Jong-woo said, “Jecheon City has a smaller population than Gyeongju City, but we were able to confirm that it is promoting policies unique to Jecheon City, such as the Childcare Comprehensive Support Center and public indoor sports facilities.” He added, “Through discussions on ways to coexist with private organizations and facilities in accordance with policy promotion, we were able to think about the direction of Gyeongju City’s childbirth and childcare policy.”
