【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자= 선린대학교(총장 곽진환)가 간호학부 학생들의 실무 역량 강화를 위해 지역 내 요양병원과 초등학교 등과 잇달아 산학협력 협약을 체결하며 현장 중심 교육체계 구축에 속도를 내고 있다.

선린대는 지난 4월 16일, 더조은요양병원(병원장 안병태) 및 고려대련요양병원(상임이사 이준엽)과 간호학부 임상실습 및 인적 교류, 그리고 경상북도 지역혁신중심 대학지원체계(RISE) 사업 운영을 위한 산학협력 협약을 체결했다.

이번 협약은 초고령사회 진입에 따른 노인요양 및 실버케어 분야 전문인력 양성 필요성이 커지는 가운데 추진됐다. 이를 통해 간호학부 학생들은 치매, 만성질환, 호스피스, 재활 등 다양한 노인요양 실무를 병원 현장에서 직접 경험하며 통합돌봄 역량을 키울 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

안병태 더조은요양병원 병원장은 “역사와 전통을 자랑하는 선린대 간호학부와 협력하게 되어 뜻깊게 생각한다”며 “현장 적응력과 전문성을 갖춘 간호 인재 양성을 위해 적극 협력하겠다”고 말했다.

이준엽 고려대련요양병원 상임이사는 “실버케어 핵심 인재 양성을 위한 교육 및 실습의 질적 향상이 기대된다”며 “학생들이 지역사회 보건의료 발전에 기여할 수 있도록 함께 노력하겠다”고 전했다.

이와 함께 선린대는 지난 4월 11일 초서초등학교(교장 서경순), 4월 17일 송라초등학교(교장 서영암)와도 간호학부 학생들의 학교현장실습 및 인적 교류를 위한 협약을 체결했다.

해당 협약을 통해 간호학부 학생들은 초등학교 보건실 등에서 보건교사 역할을 체험하며 아동 건강관리 및 학교 보건업무에 대한 실무 역량을 함양하게 된다.

서경순 초서초 교장은 “선린대 간호학부와의 협약을 환영하며, 학생들이 유능한 인재로 성장할 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 밝혔고, 서영암 송라초 교장도 “실습을 통해 학생들이 교육 현장에서 소중한 경험을 쌓기를 바란다”고 전했다.

곽진환 선린대학교 총장은 “양 기관의 지원에 깊이 감사드리며, 현장 중심의 간호교육을 강화해 지역사회가 필요로 하는 실무형 인재 양성에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.

한편, 56년 전통의 간호 교육 역사를 가진 선린대학교 간호학부는 최근 간호교육인증평가에서 ‘5년 인증’을 획득하고, 교육부 주관 교원양성기관 역량진단평가에서는 ‘A등급’을 받는 등 우수한 간호교육 기관으로 자리매김하고 있다. 앞으로도 RISE 사업과 연계해 지속 가능한 지역사회 건강 돌봄 생태계 구축에 앞장설 방침이다.

Through this, nursing students are expected to be able to directly experience various elderly care practices such as dementia, chronic diseases, hospice, and rehabilitation at hospital sites and develop integrated care capabilities.

Ahn Byeong-tae, the director of the Jo Eun Nursing Hospital, said, “It is meaningful to collaborate with the Sunlin University Department of Nursing, which boasts history and tradition,” and added, “We will actively cooperate to foster nursing talents with on-site adaptability and expertise.”

Lee Jun-yeop, the executive director of Korea University Yeon Nursing Hospital, said, “We expect to see qualitative improvements in education and practice for fostering key silver care talents,” and added, “We will work together so that students can contribute to the development of local health and medical care.”

In addition, Sunlin University signed an agreement with Choseo Elementary School (Principal Seo Kyung-soon) on April 11 and Songra Elementary School (Principal Seo Young-am) on April 17 for on-site school practice and human exchanges for nursing students.

Through this agreement, nursing students will experience the role of health teachers in elementary school health rooms and cultivate practical capabilities for child health management and school health work.

Seo Kyung-soon, principal of Choseo Elementary School, said, “We welcome the agreement with the Department of Nursing at Seonrin University, and we will actively support the students so that they can grow into competent individuals.” Seo Yeong-am, principal of Songra Elementary School, also said, “We hope that the students will gain valuable experience in the educational field through the internship.”

Kwak Jin-hwan, president of Seonrin University, said, “We deeply appreciate the support from both institutions, and we will strive to foster practical talents that the local community needs by strengthening field-centered nursing education.”

Meanwhile, Seonrin University’s Department of Nursing, with its 56-year history of nursing education, recently obtained ‘5-year accreditation’ in the nursing education accreditation evaluation and received an ‘A grade’ in the competency assessment of teacher training institutions hosted by the Ministry of Education, establishing itself as an excellent nursing education institution. In the future, it plans to take the lead in establishing a sustainable community health care ecosystem in conjunction with the RISE project.
