【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교 경찰보안무도과는 전문대학혁신지원사업의 일환으로 지난 5월 29일, 포항교도소를 방문해 재학생들을 대상으로 교정행정 현장체험 프로그램을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

이번 프로그램은 교정기관의 역할과 수형자의 생활을 직접 체험할 수 있는 실무 중심 교육으로 구성됐다. 학생들은 먼저 포항교도소의 교정행정을 소개하는 홍보영상을 시청한 뒤, 수형자 생활공간, 작업장, 취사실 등 주요 시설을 참관하며 교정 업무 전반에 대한 이해를 높였다.

경찰공무원 및 교정공무원을 희망하는 학생들에게는 교정기관의 실제 운영 현장을 직접 접해볼 수 있는 소중한 기회가 되었다는 평가다.

김미호 경찰보안무도과 학과장은 “이번 현장체험을 통해 학생들이 교정행정에 대한 이해를 높이고, 자신의 진로에 대해 보다 구체적인 비전을 세우는 계기가 되었기를 바란다”며, “앞으로도 다양한 현장실무 중심 수업을 통해 학생들에게 폭넓은 경험의 기회를 제공하겠다”고 말했다.

선린대학교는 실무 중심 교육과 진로 연계 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영하며, 미래 치안·보안 전문가 양성을 위한 교육 역량 강화를 이어가고 있다.
