【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=선린대학교(총장직무대행 전경국) 국제교류교육센터 한국어과정 유학생들이 ‘제15회 경상북도 일반인 심폐소생술 경연대회’에서 대학·일반부 최우수상을 수상했다.

이번 대회는 경상북도 소방본부 주최로 4월 7일부터 8일까지 이틀간 경주 데케이호텔에서 열렸으며, 응급처치의 중요성과 생명존중 문화 확산을 위해 마련됐다. 대회 1일 차 대학·일반부 경연에는 도내 12개 시·군을 대표하는 12개 팀이 참가해 경쟁을 펼쳤다.

선린대학교 유학생 팀은 포항북부소방서 대표로 출전해 심폐소생술 숙련도와 무대 표현력, 청중 평가 등 전 부문에서 높은 점수를 기록하며 최우수상을 차지했다.

수상자는 키르기스스탄 출신 아델리나, 아이아나를 비롯해 베트남 출신 다오 녹 닷, 응웬 홍 선, 레반셩, 몽골 출신 에르텐바트, 강치맥 등 총 6명의 유학생이다. 이들은 지난 3월 13일부터 약 3주간 수업 외 시간을 활용해 반복 훈련을 이어오며 실전 역량을 강화해왔다.

이번 성과는 선린대학교가 추진 중인 RISE 사업의 일환인 ‘외국인 유학생 안전교육 프로그램’의 결과로 평가된다. 국제교류교육센터는 앞서 4월 1일 재난안전공유협업센터와 협력해 유학생 29명을 대상으로 CPR 이론 및 기도폐쇄 응급처치 실습 교육을 실시하는 등 안전 교육을 지속해왔다.

박정훈 국제교류교육센터장은 “학생들이 자발적으로 연습하며 협력한 결과가 수상으로 이어져 기쁘다”며 “이번 경험이 생명존중의 가치를 배우는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.

한편 선린대학교 국제교류교육센터는 향후에도 외국인 유학생을 위한 응급처치 및 안전 교육 프로그램을 확대해 안전한 학업 환경 조성에 힘쓸 계획이다.

Sunlin University International Student Team Wins Grand Prize at Gyeongbuk CPR Contest

International students from the Korean Language Program at Sunlin University's International Exchange Education Center (Acting President Jeon Gyeong-guk) won the Grand Prize in the University/General Division at the "15th Gyeongsangbuk-do General Public CPR Contest."

Hosted by the Gyeongsangbuk-do Fire Department, the competition was held for two days from April 7 to 8 at the Daek Hotel in Gyeongju and was organized to promote the importance of first aid and spread a culture of respect for life. On the first day of the competition, 12 teams representing 12 cities and counties within the province competed in the University/General Division.

The Sunlin University international student team, representing the Pohang Northern Fire Station, won the Grand Prize by recording high scores in all categories, including CPR proficiency, stage presence, and audience evaluation.

The award winners are a total of six international students, including Adelina and Ayana from Kyrgyzstan; Dao Ngoc Dat, Nguyen Hong Son, and Le Van Sheng from Vietnam; and Ertenbat and Kang Chimeg from Mongolia. Since March 13, they have been strengthening their practical skills by conducting repetitive training outside of class time for approximately three weeks.

This achievement is considered a result of the ‘Safety Education Program for International Students,’ which is part of the RISE project being promoted by Sunlin University. The Center for International Exchange Education has been providing ongoing safety education, including conducting CPR theory and airway obstruction first aid practice for 29 international students in cooperation with the Disaster Safety Sharing and Collaboration Center on April 1.

Park Jung-hoon, Director of the Center for International Exchange Education, stated, “I am delighted that the students’ voluntary practice and cooperation have led to this award,” adding, “I hope this experience serves as an opportunity for them to learn the value of respecting life.” Meanwhile, Sunlin University’s International Exchange Education Center plans to continue expanding first aid and safety education programs for international students to contribute to creating a safe academic environment.
