【브레이크뉴스 예천】이성현 기자=예천군(군수 김학동)은 7월 4일부터 6일까지 3일간 예천박물관에서 국가무형문화재 ‘궁시장’ 보유자 김성락 씨의 활 제작 과정을 직접 볼 수 있는 공개행사를 개최한다.

이번 행사는 지역 무형유산의 보존과 전통문화에 대한 관심을 높이기 위한 목적으로 마련됐으며, 매일 오전 8시 30분부터 오후 4시까지 운영된다.

행사 기간 중에는 ▲대나무와 뽕나무를 활용한 연소 작업 ▲물소뿔을 펴는 전통 공정 ▲해궁 및 화피 작업 등 전통 활 제작의 핵심 기술이 시연된다. 특히 김성락 보유자가 직접 작업 과정을 선보이며 관광객 및 관람객들과 활발히 소통할 예정이다.

김성락 씨는 조부와 부친에 이어 3대째 전통 활 제작 기술을 이어오고 있는 장인으로, 1991년 입문 후 30여 년간 국궁 기술의 발전과 후진 양성에 힘써왔다. 2022년에는 국가무형유산 궁시장 기능보유자로 지정돼 예천이 활 제작의 본고장임을 다시 한 번 입증한 바 있다.

김학동 예천군수는 “이번 공개행사를 통해 지역의 전통 기술과 무형유산의 소중함을 널리 알릴 수 있길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 예천군만의 문화 정체성을 더욱 확고히 다질 수 있도록 전통문화 지원에 힘쓰겠다”고 밝혔다.

Yecheon-gun, National Intangible Cultural Heritage Archery Master Kim Seong-rak Holds Open Bow Making Event

Yecheon-gun (Governor Kim Hak-dong) will hold an open event for three days from July 4 to 6 at the Yecheon Museum where you can directly see the bow making process of National Intangible Cultural Heritage Archery Master Kim Seong-rak.

This event was prepared for the purpose of preserving local intangible cultural heritage and increasing interest in traditional culture, and will be held from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM every day.

During the event, the core techniques of traditional bow making, such as ▲Bamboo and mulberry tree burning process ▲Traditional process of spreading water buffalo horn ▲Haegung and Hwapi process, will be demonstrated. In particular, Kim Seong-rak will demonstrate the process himself and actively communicate with tourists and visitors.

Mr. Kim Seong-rak is a craftsman who has inherited the traditional bow making technique for three generations, following his grandfather and father. Since entering the field in 1991, he has worked hard to develop archery techniques and nurture future generations for over 30 years. In 2022, it was designated as a holder of the National Intangible Cultural Heritage of Archery, proving once again that Yecheon is the birthplace of bow production.
