이번 보고회는 포항시를 비롯해 한국로봇융합연구원, 중소조선연구원 등 유관기관 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 진행됐으며, 포항시 해양 신산업을 체계적이고 전략적으로 육성하기 위한 종합계획 수립의 기초자료를 공유하는 자리가 됐다.

연구용역에서는 ▲국내외 해양 신산업 현황 분석 ▲해양 신산업 관련 정책 동향 ▲포항시 해양산업 현황 진단 ▲향후 육성 방향 제시 등이 주요 내용으로 다뤄졌다.

이날 보고회에서는 급변하는 정책 환경에 대응하기 위한 포항시 해양 신산업의 발전 전략이 집중 논의됐다. 참석자들은 지속 가능한 해양산업 생태계 조성을 위해 실천 가능한 구체적 방안 마련이 필요하다는 데 의견을 모았다.

포항TP는 이번 연구 결과를 바탕으로, 향후 포항시의 ‘해양산업 육성 종합계획 및 중장기 발전전략 수립’을 위한 후속 연구도 이어서 추진할 방침이다.

배영호 포항TP 원장은 “첨단해양R&D센터를 전략적 거점으로 삼아 포항이 동해안 해양산업의 핵심 도시로 도약할 수 있도록 정책 제안과 실행 로드맵을 구체화할 것”이라며, “지역 산업과의 연계를 통해 실질적인 성과를 창출할 수 있도록 관련 사업을 적극적으로 추진해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
