7일 포항TP에 따르면 이번 사업은 경상북도(도지사 이철우)가 지역내위치한 인공지능 기반 중소벤처기업의 R&D 역량을 강화하기 위해 지난 2022년에 마련한 사업으로, 포항테크노파크와 포스텍 인공지능연구원이 함께 사업의 수행을 맡고 있다.

포항TP와 포스텍은 경상북도를 통해 2026년까지 5년간, 총 사업비 25억원을 확보하였으며, 기업 발굴 및 공동 기술개발 지원을 통해 도내 인공지능 전문 기업 50개사를집중 육성 할 계획이다.

지원 첫해였던 2022년에는 도내 9개사를 지원하였으며, 이를 통해 인공지능 기술 관련 특허출원 7건과 기술이전 8건의 성과를 달성하였으며, 매출 37% 상승과 함께 21명의 신규 고용을 창출하여 지원대비 높은 성과를 보여주었다.

뿐만 아니라, 정부 R&D과제 수주를 위한 컨설팅 지원을 통해 총 9건(사업비 합계액 74억원)의 과제 기획을 지원하였다. 정부 R&D과제가 주로 상반기에 공고가 된다는 점을 고려하면 연말까지 더욱 많은 성과 사례들이 발굴될 것으로 보인다.

2022년 지원받은 ㈜에이치에너지(대표 함일환)의 경우, 기존 비즈니스 모델인‘가상발전소 전기 구독 플랫폼’에 인공지능 기반 기술을 더하여, 70억원의 투자 유치에 성공하였으며, 지난 1월에는 산업통상자원부 R&D과제(10억원)를 신규로 수주하기도 했다.

2023년도 사업의 경우, 현재 포항테크노파크 홈페이지를 통해 지원기업 모집을 추진하고 있으며, 오는 24일까지 온라인으로 접수가 가능하다. 지원규모는 8개사 내외로 1차년 사업을 성공적으로 마무리한 만큼 경쟁률이 치열할 것으로 예상된다.

경상북도 기업지원과 윤희란 과장은“인공지능 전문기관과의 협업을 통해 인공지능 관련 분야의 중소벤처기업 역량을 강화하는 계기가 되었으며, 1차년도 우수성과에 그치지 않고, 지역기관들과의 협업을 통해 지역의 미래핵심 사업인 인공지능 분야 기술을 집중 육성하겠다.”라고 전했다.

포항테크노파크 이점식 원장은“경상북도 지원과제를 통해 지역 내 인공지능 기술의 고도화와 SW서비스 제공의 폭이 확대될 수 있기를 기대하며, 지역 인공지능 기반 SW기업들이 한층 더 성장할 수 있도록 협력 프로그램의 발굴과 지역 네트워크 확대에 더욱 노력 하겠다”고 밝혔다.
