【브레이크뉴스 포항】이성현 기자=포항테크노파크(원장 이점식, 이하 포항TP)는 지난 14일 포항테크노파크에서 ARAMCO, ㈜에프씨아이(Fuel Cell Innovations, 이하 FCI)와 수소연료전지 관련 협력방안을 논의했다고 15일 밝혔다.

이날 회의는 사우디 아람코 아킬 자말 아람코 연구개발센터 탄소관리 수석연구원과 사이 카티카네니 연구 과학 컨설턴트, FCI 이태원 대표 등 10여명이 포항시 수소산업 국제 벨류체인 조성을 위한 비전 및 계획에 대해 공유하고 발전방향에 대한 의견을 교류했다.

FCI의 국내 연료전지 생산거점인 포항시 블루밸리 국가산업단지와 포항테크노파크의 수소연료전지 인증센터 및 구축되어있는 수소연료전지 시험장비의 연계 및 확장 방안과 포항의 입지 조건, 지역 기업 연계 방안 등 심도 있는 의견교류를 진행했다.

한편 지난해 10월 FCI는 포항시와 블루밸리 국가산업단지 內 약 1.5만평에 2027년까지 1,500억원을 투자하는 투자 양해각서를 체결했다. 더불어 2024년까지 해당 산업단지 내에 50 MW 용량의 고체산화물연료전지 제품 공장 건립을 목표로 삼고 있다.

포항시와 포항테크노파크는 연료전지 산업 기반 핵심 인프라인 수소연료전지 인증센터를 구축하여 포항블루밸리 국가산단 내 28만240㎥에 총사업비 1,890억원을 투입해 2027년까지 수소연료전지 부품 관련 기업 직접화단지 조성을 추진하는 수소연료전지 발전 클러스터를 추진할 예정이다.

포항TP는 친환경 수소경제 허브도시로 나아가기 위해 수소연료전지 발전클러스터, 각종 기업지원을 통해 포항시 內 수소연료전지산업 생태계를 조성하고 수소연료전지 인증센터와 연계해 시너지를 극대화 할 계획이다.

이점식 원장은 “수소경제 확대와 미래 신성장산업 육성을 이루기 위해 국제 연계협력을 강화하여 수소연료전지 생태계 조성을 완료하여 포항이 국내 최대의 수소연료전지 산업의 거점도시로 도약하는데 모든 노력을 기울이겠다”고 말했다.
