이번 해커톤 대회는 경상북도와 포항테크노파크가 진행하는 ‘경북형 인재양성-취업연계 메타버스 아카데미 사업’의 일환으로 추진되는 행사로, 지역내 메타버스 개발자 및 창작자 발굴을 위해 마련되었다.
대회는 포항TP 경북SW진흥본부의 주관으로 진행되며, 2월 15일 개막식을 시작으로 경북 김천에 소재한‘경북ICT이노베이션스퀘어’에서 2월 17일까지 대학생 및 일반인으로 구성된 20여개 팀이 참가할 예정이다.
15일 개최되는 개막식에는 이정우 경상북도 메타버스혁신과장과 함께, 윤상영 김천시 미래혁신전략과장이 내빈으로 참석하며, 참가자들은 ‘메타버스 기술개발 및 사회문제 해결’을 주제로 무박 3일간의 팀 프로젝트를 수행하게 된다.
대회 마지막일에는 별도 심사를 거쳐 출전팀 중 우수팀 3개를 선정, 총 600만원의 상금(최우수 300만원, 우수 200만원, 장려팀 100만원)을 수여할 예정이며. 각 수상자들에게는 상금과 함께 전문가 멘토링, 메타버스 전문기술교육 등의 후속 프로그램도 제공될 예정이다.
