【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=(재)포항테크노파크(원장 배영호, 이하 포항TP)는 지난 9월 22일부터 10월 1일까지 ‘2025년 포항시 유망강소기업’으로 선정된 11개 기업을 직접 방문해 현판을 전달했다고 2일 밝혔다.
포항TP는 이번 현판 전달을 단순한 인증 절차에 그치지 않고, 기업 대표와 임직원들을 만나 성장 전략과 경영 애로사항을 청취하는 등 현장 중심의 소통을 강화하는 계기로 삼았다. 또 향후 기업 맞춤형 지원 방안도 함께 모색했다.
올해 새롭게 이름을 올린 기업은 총 11개사다. △㈜이스온이 우수유망강소기업으로, △㈜햅스 △㈜와이테크 △㈜동우가 유망강소기업으로 선정됐다. 아울러 △㈜옴니코트 △㈜파이어크루 △솔라라이즈㈜ △㈜투엔 △㈜하이보 △쓰리브룩스테라퓨틱스㈜ △디컴포지션㈜ 등 7개사가 예비유망강소기업으로 지정됐다.
특히 예비유망강소기업은 지난해 3개사에서 올해 7개사로 두 배 이상 확대되며, 창업 초기 기업의 적극적인 참여와 지역 창업 생태계의 성장 잠재력이 부각됐다.
포항시 유망강소기업 육성사업은 2015년 시작돼 현재까지 122개사가 지정됐다. 포항TP는 △비즈니스 스케일업 컨설팅 △맞춤형 기업지원 △1사 1PM(Project Manager) 운영 △글로벌 시장 진출 프로그램 △중소기업 운전자금 우대 지원 등 다각도의 지원을 펼치고 있다. 그 결과 2024년 기준 정부지원사업 67건(457억원) 수주와 9개사 970억원 투자 유치 성과를 거두며 지역 기업의 성장을 견인했다.
배영호 포항TP 원장은 “철강산업 의존도가 높은 지역경제가 전환기를 맞고 있는 지금, 다양한 분야의 강소기업들이 새로운 성장동력으로 자리매김하길 기대한다”며 “앞으로도 기업 현장의 목소리를 정책에 적극 반영해 실효성 있는 지원을 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

A total of 11 companies were newly recognized this year. Ison Co., Ltd. was selected as an Excellent Promising Small and Medium Enterprise, while Haps Co., Ltd., Ytech Co., Ltd., and Dongwoo Co., Ltd. were selected as Promising Small and Medium Enterprises. Additionally, seven companies, including Omnicote Co., Ltd., Firecrew Co., Ltd., Solarize Co., Ltd., Tuen Co., Ltd., Hibo Co., Ltd., Threebrooks Therapeutics Co., Ltd., and Decomposition Co., Ltd., were designated as prospective promising small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Notably, the number of prospective promising SMEs more than doubled from three last year to seven this year, highlighting the active participation of early-stage startups and the growth potential of the local startup ecosystem.
Pohang City's Promising Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) Promotion Project, launched in 2015, has designated 122 companies to date. Pohang TP provides multifaceted support, including business scale-up consulting, customized business support, one-to-one project manager (PM) operation, global market entry programs, and preferential working capital support for SMEs. As a result, as of 2024, the city has secured 67 government-funded projects (KRW 45.7 billion) and attracted KRW 97 billion in investment from nine companies, driving the growth of local businesses.
Pohang Technology Partnership (PohangTP) Director Bae Young-ho said, "As the regional economy, heavily reliant on the steel industry, faces a turning point, I hope that strong small and medium-sized enterprises in various sectors will establish themselves as new growth engines." He added, "We will continue to actively incorporate the voices of businesses into our policies and provide effective support."
