청송군(군수 윤경희)은 산림의 경제·공익적 가치 제고와 탄소중립 실현, 재해 없는 건강한 산림생태계 구축, 임업인 소득 증대와 산림복지·휴양 가치 증진, 특색 있는 경관 조성과 지역 브랜드 강화 등 4대 전략을 중심으로 산림정책을 추진한다고 밝혔다.

먼저 산림의 경제적·공익적 가치를 높이고 탄소 흡수원을 확대하기 위해 113억 원을 투입한다. 조림사업 438ha와 정책숲가꾸기 775ha를 추진해 산림의 생산성과 환경 기능을 강화할 계획이다. 특히 산불 피해지에는 벌채와 조림을 병행해 새로운 숲을 조성하고 장기적으로 건강한 산림생태계를 구축할 방침이다.

또 진보면 각산리 공한지에는 17억 원을 들여 도시숲을 조성해 녹지공간을 확충하고, 주민들에게 쾌적한 생활환경을 제공하는 한편 탄소중립 실현과 기후변화 대응에도 기여할 계획이다.

재해 없는 산림생태계 구축을 위해서는 59억 원을 투입한다. 산불 예방을 위해 산불진화 헬기 단독 임차와 골든타임제를 운영해 초기 대응체계를 강화하고, 산림재난대응단과 산불감시원 등 인력을 활용해 신속한 진화 활동을 펼칠 예정이다. 또한 ‘소각 산불 없는 녹색마을’ 캠페인을 통해 주민 참여를 유도하고 불법 소각행위에 대한 과태료 기준을 적극 홍보하는 등 예방 활동을 강화한다.

아울러 소나무재선충병 등 산림 병해충 피해 예방을 위해 예방나무주사와 피해목 제거사업을 적기에 시행하고, 소나무류 이동단속초소 운영과 드론 예찰을 통해 병해충 확산을 조기에 차단할 계획이다. 산불 피해지에 대한 사방사업도 추진해 2차 피해 예방과 주민 안전 확보에도 힘쓴다.

임업인 소득 증대와 산림복지 확대를 위해서는 96억 원을 투입한다. 임산물 생산·가공·유통 체계를 구축해 임업인의 경쟁력을 높이고, 청송임산물대학 운영을 통해 임업인 역량 강화도 지원할 예정이다.

이와 함께 산림휴양시설 확충과 유아숲체험원 운영, 생활권 등산로 정비 등을 통해 누구나 이용할 수 있는 산림복지 서비스를 확대한다. 특히 자연휴양림 시설 현대화 사업의 일환으로 20억 원을 투입해 숙박시설을 신축하는 등 이용객 편의를 높일 계획이다.

특색 있는 경관 조성과 지역 브랜드 강화를 위해서는 10억 원을 투입한다. ‘산소카페 청송정원’과 ‘청송솔빛정원’을 운영해 관광객에게 다양한 볼거리를 제공하고 주민들에게 휴식 공간을 제공할 예정이다. 또한 산책로 주변에 꽃길과 화단을 조성해 자연 속 힐링 공간을 확대한다.
