【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=DGIST(총장 국양)는 정보통신융합전공 이제민 교수가 차세대 무선통신 시스템 및 보안통신 기술에 대한 탁월한 연구 성과를 인정받아, ICT분야 국내 최대 학술단체인 한국통신학회에서 선정하는 ‘한국통신학회 해동젊은공학인상(학술상)’을 수상했다고 9일 밝혔다.

차세대 무선통신 시스템과 보안통신 기술에 대한 연구를 진행해오고 있는 이제민 교수는 현재까지 49편의 SCI급 논문을 발표하며, 그 중 33편을 JCR 상위 10%의 최우수 저널에 게재했다.

또한, 그간 진행해온 연구 성과의 우수성을 인정받아 ‘IEEE 젊은 연구자상(IEEE ComSoc Asia/Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher Award)’을 2014년 수상했으며, 2017년 ‘Asia-Pacific Outstanding Paper Award’, 이후 2020년에는 ‘Young Author Best Paper Award’를 수상하기도 했다.

DGIST　정보통신융합전공 이제민 교수는 “이제껏 진행해온 연구의 성과가 긍정적으로 평가받은 것 같아 매우 기쁘다”며 “최근 진행 중인 6G 통신기술 연구 분야에서도 좋은 성과를 낼 수 있도록 계속해서 연구에 전념할 생각이다”고 말했다.

한편, 해동상은 대덕전자㈜ 고 김정식 회장이 설립한 해동과학문화재단에서 한국의 전자공학 및 관련 분야 인재들에게 수여한다. 1990년 첫 수여 이후, 현재 총 29회에 걸쳐 시행됐으며, 2005년부터 시상영역을 확대해 한국통신학회, 한국마이크로전자 및 패키징학회, 한국공학한림원을 포함해 4개 학회를 대상으로 해동상을 수여하고 있다.
