【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구보건대학교(총장 남성희) 국제교류원은 최근 캐나다, 일본, 필리핀, 태국 4개국 6개 대학과 AUAP(Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacic : 아시아 ‧ 태평양대학연합회)회원들을 초청해 제5회 국제보건통합심포지엄(The 5th Allied Health Science International Symposium)을 개최했다. 

개교 50주년을 기념해 주최한 이번 심포지엄은 4차 산업혁명 시대의 의료서비스 도전 과제 : 보건통합부문의 위기와 기회(Healthcare Challenges in the Fourth Industrial Revolution : Risk and Opportunity for Allied Health Sciences)를 주제로 해외 대학교와 네트워크를 구축하고 국제 교류 활성화를 위해 마련됐다고 학교 관계자는 전했다.

이날 심포지엄에는 남성희 총장을 비롯한 장상문 대외부총장, 김경용 국제교류원장, 대학관계자와 학생 등 50여명의 현장 참석자들과 실시간 유튜브에 접속한 해외자매대학 교수, 학생 등 온라인 참여자 300여명까지 총350여명이 참가했다.
 
행사는 남성희 총장의 개회사를 시작으로 아시아 ‧ 태평양대학연합회 피터 라우렐 회장의 축사로 이어졌다. 축하공연 후 이어진 기조연설은 계명대학교 간호대학장 박정숙 교수가 발표했다. 박 교수는 COVID-19로 달라진 삶에 따른 의료기관의 대응사례와 코로나 바이러스에 대한 다양한 대처방안을 제시했다.

기조연설 이후 심포지엄을 주제로 한 포스터 제작 발표가 진행됐다. 임상병리과, 물리치료과, 간호학과, 작업치료과 학생 18개팀(대구보건대학교 10개팀, 태국 콘켄대학교 8개팀)이 참가했으며 학생들은 3개월 동안 포스트 제작을 준비하면서 전공영역을 확대시키고 취업에 대비한 새로운 스펙을 쌓는 열정을 보였다.

이어 임상병리과, 간호학과, 물리치료과 ‧ 언어치료과 ‧ 작업치료과 3개의 세션으로 편성한 교수들의 전공분야 발표가 오후 1시부터 5시까지 실시간 온라인 줌(Zoom)을 활용해 동시에 진행됐다.

임상병리과 박철인 교수를 포함 8명의 대구보건대학교 교수와 캐나다 뉴칼레도이나대학교 2명, 일본 구마모토보건과학대학교 5명, 필리핀 센트로에스콜라대학교 3명, 리시움필리핀대학교 2명, 파이스튼대학교 3명, 태국 콘켄대학교 4명 등 총 27명의 교수들의 발표를 통해 우수한 연구 성과를 공유하고 참가 교수들과 질의응답을 통해 발표내용의 이해도를 높였다.

국제교류원 김경용(사회복지과 교수)원장은“팬데믹으로 해외참가자들과 함께하는 국제심포지엄 개최에 어려움이 있었지만 언택트라는 새로운 패러다임으로 온라인 심포지엄을 개최하고 더 많은 참가자들과 교류할 수 있어 기쁘다”며“앞으로 국제보건통합심포지엄으로 전공분야 교류가 활발히 이뤄질 수 있도록 참여자 확대를 위해 최선을 다 하겠다”고 전했다.

Daegu Health University (President Male-hee) recently hosted six universities in four countries, Canada, Japan, the Philippines, and Thailand, as well as members of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) to host the 5th Allied Health Science International Symposium. 

The symposium, which celebrated the 50th anniversary of its opening, was designed to network with overseas universities and enable international exchanges under the theme of the Fourth Industrial Revolution-era healthcare challenge: Healthcare Challenges in the Fourth Industrial Revolution .

The symposium included more than 50 field attendees, including President Male-hee, Foreign Affairs Minister Jang Sang-moon, International Exchange Director Kim Kyung-yong, university officials and students, as well as more than 350 online participants, including professors and students from overseas universities who accessed youtube in real time.
 
The event began with the opening of President Male Hee and led to the celebration of Peter Laurel, President of the Asia and Pacific University Association. The keynote speech, which followed after the celebration, was delivered by Professor Park Jung-sook, president of the College of Nursing at Keimyung University. Professor Park presented the responses of medical institutions to covid-19 and various ways to deal with the coronavirus.

After the keynote speech, a poster was announced on the theme of the symposium. 18 students from the Department of Clinical Medicine, Physiotherapy, Nursing, and Occupational Therapy (10 from Daegu Health University and 8 from Konken University in Thailand) participated, and students showed a passion for expanding their majors and building new specifications for employment as they prepared for post-production over a three-month period.

Following, three sessions of professors in the Department of Clinical And Nursing, Department of Nursing, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy were presented simultaneously using live online Zoom from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Eight professors from Daegu Health University, including Professor Park Cheol-in of the Department of Clinical Medicine, and two from The University of New Caledonia, Canada, Five professors from Kumamoto University of Health sciences in Japan, three from Centro escola University in the Philippines, two from Rishium Filipine University, three from Paiston University, and four from Konken University in Thailand shared excellent research results and increased understanding of the presentation through questions and answers with participating professors.

Kim Kyung-yong, director of the International Exchange Center (Professor of Social Welfare), said, "While we have had difficulty holding international symposiums with overseas participants as a fandeumic, Untaktra is pleased to be able to hold online symposiums and engage with more participants in a new paradigm," and said, "We will do our best to expand participants so that major exchanges can be actively achieved with the International Health Integration Symposium in the future."
