【브레이크뉴스 구미】이성현 기자=구미시(시장 김장호)는 오는 6일부터 8일까지 3일간 구미새마을테마공원 전시관 1층 로비에서 200여점의 무궁화 화분을 전시하는 제1회 무궁화 전시회를 개최한다고 3일 밝혔다.
이번 전시회를 주관하는 우리꽃사랑연구회는 구미시농업기술센터에서2004년 창립하여 연구회원 37명이 모여 생활원예기술교육을 통해 직접 손으로 빚은 도자기 화분에 무궁화를 식재해 작품을 선보인다.
무궁화는 예로부터 우리민족의 사랑을 받아온 꽃으로 ‘영원히 피고 또 피어서 지지않는 꽃’ 이라는 뜻을 지니고 있으며, 한결같은 사랑으로 국민들의 가슴에 새겨져 자연스럽게 우리나라를 상징하는 국화로 정착하게 되었다.
이번 전시회를 통하여 무궁화의 아름다움과 우수성을 홍보하고, 우리 주변에서 무궁화를 즐길 수 있는 계기를 마련하고자 하였다. 관람시간은 오전 9시부터 오후 18시 까지이며, 관람료는 무료이다.
전시회를 주최하는 구미시농업기술센터(소장 김영혁)는 “이번 무궁화 전시회를 통하여 우리꽃 무궁화의 아름다움을 알리고 무궁화가 상징하는 인내와 끈기를 구미시민들에게 불어넣어 줄 수 있는 기회가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

Founded in 2004 by the Gumi City Agricultural Technology Center, the Flower Love Research Society, which hosts this exhibition, 37 research members gather to present art by planting Mugunghwa in pottery pots made by hand through life horticultural technology education.
Mugunghwa is a flower that has been loved by our people since ancient times. It has the meaning of ‘a flower that blooms and never fades’.
Through this exhibition, we wanted to promote the beauty and excellence of Mugunghwa and provide an opportunity to enjoy Mugunghwa around us. The viewing hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.
The Gumi City Agricultural Technology Center (Director Kim Young-hyuk), which hosts the exhibition, said, “I hope this exhibition of Mugunghwa will be an opportunity to promote the beauty of Mugunghwa and instill the patience and persistence symbolized by Mugunghwa to the citizens of Gumi.”
