시는 지난 2일 시청 본관 회의실에서 ‘제4기 구미시 청년정책위원회’ 위원 위촉식과 정기회의를 열고, 청년 삶의 질 향상을 위한 본격적인 정책 논의에 착수했다.

이날 행사에서는 새로 구성된 청년정책위원 15명에게 위촉장이 수여됐으며, 시는 2025년 청년정책 추진계획을 보고하고 정책 방향에 대해 위원들과 의견을 교환했다.

청년정책위원회는 청년 당사자의 목소리를 행정에 반영하기 위한 자문·심의 기구로, 제조업, 농업, 문화, 서비스업 등 다양한 분야의 지역 청년과 대학생이 참여하고 있다. 위원들은 앞으로 2년 동안 청년 정책의 실효성과 현장성을 높이기 위한 자문 역할을 맡는다.

이날 회의를 주재한 김장호 시장은 “청년들이 구미에서 머무르며 안정적으로 살아갈 수 있도록 일자리, 주거, 문화 등 전반에 걸친 종합적 지원이 필요하다”며 “청년정책위원회가 정책 수립의 든든한 파트너가 되어주길 바란다”고 말했다.

한편 이날 회의에서는 지역 청년 동아리 및 단체를 지원하는 ‘구미영에너지프로젝트’ 대상 선정 심사도 함께 이뤄졌다.

구미시는 청년들이 정책 수혜자가 아닌 정책 주체로서 목소리를 내고 변화를 이끌 수 있는 참여 기반을 강화해 나가겠다는 방침이다.
